Looks good Ski, i thought you had the crank lightened for that track car, but looks like prep-drilled instead?

well, just waiting on 86 OPRV now. Stopped by Paragon Friday afternoon after flying into Corpus - the least I can do since I was driving when the car blew up and it was Jims turn to keep the car for a year and half. I took the #4 968 for a drive down old Brownsville Rd, wow, what fun to drive 1 of only 4 cars produced by the factory. I was going to take the Shelby 500 for a drive but it was being worked on.

Ole JAB Racing #186 should start next week or the next. OPRV, install S and R sensors, intake, radiator, pipes, MAF - time to crank it up. Jim (jwl) took me to the airport today, we took "red", his 2.8L VR IV...that car makes some serious hp and torque with just 17psi on it. It was hot so he turned the A/C on - if you want FRIGID A/C, give mr. griffith your $$$$.

Built Gator 86 short block this morning, put it in a crate for home, I'll email you the full spec Andrew, smooth as silk.

Now that your pi$$ed off about me getting to drive the 968, just joking. However, it's always a thrill to get to see the car, the detail and the crafsmanship - I wish I had $140k sitting in the 401k that was NOT a part of long term planning. Because I can tell you it would be parked in my garage next to blacky.

Ski,

Quick question about needing the OPRV. Did the 86 block not come with one or did you inspect the one it came with and found it to be bad? I'm about to pull my oil cooler, AGAIN, and re-install. Would like any insight there is to possibly diagnosing a bad OPRV before I re-install. Note mine is original 3 piece and car had good oil pressure before it was torn down. So I think I'm okay.

It was a spare 86 block we had at Jim's shop, that we bought off ebay some time ago and it did not have the cooler or any accessories. We got a new sleeve and a new updated OPRV, it's just been slow coming from the FatherLand.

What sort of issues are you having?

Back from the dead....too much work, switching jobs and USCG classes...Jim painting stuff all over the USA...and time has just gone by. The engine above had an oil pressure problem when hot. Changed OPRV, changed oil, oil filter, sender...anyway, when it would get up to normal temp, 1 bar. So engine out and found "perp drilled holes, not only in the rod journals(shop told to do so) but they drilled the main journals!!!!

New crankshaft in, engine being assembled now, but won't make Hallett next week.
