Barber has a DE 6/16 & 6/17. Are you going to make it?

Hey Brett,
How do these rods compare with the more widely seen carrillo and pauter rods? Differences? Similarities? Why these rather than those? Thanks.

No chance at Barber, June is filled with two weeks of work and then two weeks at the beach. Besides, Jim has the car down in TX, so it'll be a lot of TWS, MS Ranch etc for the next year or year/half. Engine should be back together - July we're hoping, in the car and started.

The rods look like Carrillos, new to the market, carrried by Racers Edge and come with ARP hardware, got a helluva good deal on them since they're new to the market. Stats are on the RE website. Pauters were at least a few more weeks out for delivery. You know, we're always trying something new instead of the usual.

Racers Edge site, has all the details on the rods. Carl really likes them, a bit less expensive than Pauter or Carrillo but they look like Carrillos.

Just really disappointed that this happened. Both Jim and I realize that the car was driven hard, in a racing environment, but with the bearings looking the way they did, the cylinder walls...I feel it could have made it another two years at least but you never really know.

All the parts are in hand to get started. I can't get down to Jims shop until July, he's got some things going on but hopefully it will be running by August. Then repair the burn damage to the paint and rear diffuser.

Bret,
So basically, the block that suffered the damage, is for no good use and you had a spare block and using that right?

Hussam, yes we had two spares, now down to one. I have a spare short block in my garage also that's built for my car should anything happen to it. The hole in the side, girdle and block area around the oil pick up tube were trashed jus a bit too much for JB Weld
