There was no real incident, it was from the start and just got worse. Thats wy I think it is so from the engine was built.
Ok i was under the impression it was an " event " which appeared to be from quenching , intake air temps are critical with ethanol and there will be no signs of knock!
It appears it was a build mistake based on your comments ....Still yet if there was quenching it would lift the head, the high temperature could have shrunk the ring , anything on the head ? the pic posted shows the tell tale signs IMO ...

Run !!! Forrest , run ......
I have tuned on gas first to have a ign to start with and it maked 450 rwhp at 1 bar. From that I have changed the ign with up to 10 degrees in some special way for E85. I run a MSD Dis HO with 4 separat coils and Nippon Iridium KI27 (expensive) and it seems that I have sparks no matter the conditions is, there is a lot of power in that ignition system.
Patrick,
Reply sent. Once you read it it will be obvious.
Michael,
Once you speak to Neil you will understand the cause and its an easy fix. He will sort you out.
Could someone tell or PM (if more suitable) me the cause/solution to this please.
Many thanks.
p.s. I just read through this post from start to finish and what a project! I'm impressed. There are many things that looked so wrong to me about your set up your intercooler, the revs your using, the intake manifold. What I know tells me it's wrong but you've challenged that and its worked. I respect that massively. Also I once bought a mk2 golf from a rally driver who used ridiculously advanced ignition and it was without doubt the fastest golf I've ever owned or driven so I'm totally with you on that one. Advanced ignition makes an engine feel so much sharper.
Hope you get the heat thing sorted and I'd love to see those video clips.
