Have you been driving your car many kilometers in the last year?
Can you take some more video of the car and from inside while driving it so we can see and hear the beast in action? Did you ever take some 100-200 kmh times?
I think the hot spots will come with high power and especially with E85 as the ignitin and cylinderpressure is higher. Some water channels in the head has less flow and the spots come. Pressure build up. I have to eliminate these spots by increased flow. I soon recive a head that I will saw apart to se how it could be done.
Yes, I have an owerflow tank from my 2 expansion tanks and when the cap is opened and the pressure is gone there is more boiling and the temp will rice.

Engine has now runned about 1500 km and almost at wot... everything except this above works fine.

100-200 is at 6.1 seconds, 100-150 at about 2.5. I think it could be even a bit lower...

You might try Evans coolant - very good with hot spots.

Is there any easy way to flush the heater core from coolant before switching to Evans coolant ?

One thing that helps - drain the old coolant and flush with water as much as possible. The water will eventually evaporate (coolant will not).

You can use air to blow out the heater core - disconnect the hose at the back of the engine and at the heater return to the pump - blow in compressed air and you will get a lot of the coolant out.

Have you installed a steam vent kit?

I was also having issues with hot spots. We think this was part of the reason we blew a cometic gasket at number four. It only leaked into my coolant and pressurized the system. I'm going to use the Evans coolant. Thanks for the tip Chris.

Chris!

Have you noticed higher temp with Evans? Any other problems?

Have you used their new NPG-R?

They have a cooling system flush liquid that you can use. Im not too sure how it works though, I never used it.

And +1 for Evans coolant, I have it in mine as well.

Does anyone know if the steam vent actually makes a difference?

I remember hearing that Evans was very slick if it got on the tires due to a leak. Is this true?
