Dfastest, from my experience the 6 speed is not ideal for a big turbo setup, mine doesnt make full use of the Stage V vitesse until 4th gear at the moment. We are working on getting it to spin up better in 3rd but for me unless I go to a faster spooling turbo the first 3 gears are too short. Once you get to 4th it flies but even in 6th it still feels like you need another gear. As far as I know there is no final drive solution and only 5th and 6th can be swapped for off the shelf Audi ratios. Which gives a nice top speed but doesnt solve the problem in the lower gears.

The chassis of the 968 is supposed to be stiffer - by something like 30% if I recall correctly. That probably is what you are feeling.

nick_968, thanks for the tip. I've heard the same thing. With my power and future upgrades I'm afraid I may not get the use out of the first few gears either. So I'm looking at a 3.40 final drive ring and pinion from Powerhaus II. Either that or I'm going to go with a taller fifth and sixth like you mentioned or a combo of both. Not sure yet. I still need to find the gearbox and parts to convert at a good price first.

That's interesting...

I went to Powerhaus II for new 3rd ~6th gears in my 968 turbo conversion...but I went to shorter gears to stay in the RPM range of my power band.

I've lost some top end speed for the ability to stay in the sweet spot. I top out now at around 150 mph.

I didnt know there was a final drive solution available for the 968 six speed.....is this something you already have a price for? Do they sell longer 3rd and 4th gears for the 968 box as well?

There has been talk of a different RP being made this year, not sure if it is lower or higher though, most of the ratios are closer, but 0.66 is available for sixth.I was quoted about A$2500.
