I don't know the aero profile of the 968 but it looks like it's placed further back from the front. Have a look at this picture OF A 924 as a reference:

Druckbeiwert = Pressure coefficient!

Anders, I think you are both “over- and mis-reading” the chart.
“Überdruckbereich” or “over-pressure-value” (i.e. positive pressure) is below the horizontal line in the chart and it appears, that the chart shows the relative values of the pressure on the outer surface of the car in its center plane.
What happens just behind the skin is a totally different and very complex matter, which I wouldn’t dare guess on. However for those who really want to know, actual measurements are not too complex to do. NZ951 once did some for his cold air box.

Btw, I have not seen that graph before and find it very interesting.

Finally something to update... I had to wait for 6 extra weeks to get my exhaust done, and 4 more weeks for my new intake...

I got all parts assembled this evening and next task is to get it running. The good part so far is that it's cranking OK, so nothing is not stuck yet. BTW, -044 pump makes infernal noise!

turbo 2,5l block
Darton MID sleeves
JE 104mm pistons
S2 crankshaft
turbo conrods
piston oil squirters machined into block
I-J crank scraper/windage tray
N/A head
ARP head studs
Cometic MLS gasket
new gaskets, bearings, belts, rollers, water pump
all hardware fresh plated or new
powdercoated this and that

TiAL dump
upgraded IC & pipes
65mm TB
slightly modified intake
VEMS Genboard v3.3
Bosch 044
Siemens Deka 900cc
Holset HX40 super
3" DP opening to 3½" cat opening to 4" cat-back with Magnaflow "silencer"
APEXI AVC-R
original WG modified to 2-port
etc..

I'll comment this when I get it running, but so far technically ( and for it's capabilities: autotune, launch control, anti-lag, boost control, active knock control ) it's OK. It can even use original speed & reference sensors ( And for Audi's with 55-pin DME there's bolt-on box. ) . Manual/instructions are slightly different thing. IMHO they're too much for propellerheads...

In that case I'll wait until you have it running

Edit: It's not very expensive.

OK, it's been a long time since my last post on this subject. Things didn't go as well as I expeceted they would... First of all the guy I thought I had a deal with to fabricate my exhaust was a huge disappointment ( read: total a*****e ) and I had to find someone to do it. So, exhaust was completed on the second week of June. New intake on the first week of July...please do not ask why.

So, in the middle of July I was very anxious to get it finally running. I installed basic settings for trigger, ignition and fuel injection and after two weeks of trial and error and few advice from other VEMS users I managed to start it.
It did run, but not beautifully, which was kinda expected. What was not expected was this "Old Faithful" geysir phenomena from the engine.... I did torque the head according to instructions I got from various sources, for Cometic HG and ARP studs. What I did not do was using the search-feature of Rennlist. I could have found that that torque is not enough...there seem to be several issues of inadquate sealing with 65lb-ft ( or what the initial tq was... ). So I pulled the cam housing out, retorqued the head to 95lb-ft and thought that my problems were over. Which wasn't quite so. The leak wasn't as bad as intially, but still there. I had to pull out the head to check the block, head and gasket. It seems that there was so much s*** accumulated on the both sides of the gasket during those failed attempts that it would have leaked despite any torque, so I diched the b****. At this moment it was already late August... I had my vacation away from home and had to work extensively , so there was little time to work with the car.

What I did now was getting new gaskets. I had a trip to NYC, so I picked up some goodies from LR, namely new Cometic and a WideFire. After an evaluation process WFHG was the winner. More delays because of work, but finally three weeks ago the angine was completed again. I had to check and re-check all settings, including cam...I have adjustable cam gear...and there was this strange issue of red-hot-glowing x-overtube before I got all settings together.
Finally today it idled @ 1000rpm without any issues of overheating the exhaust. Water temps have been all the time in control. Next week, after another trip to NYC, I'll adjust idle AFR and start to dream about higher rpms. BTW, big valve head with 3" downpipe, 3½" cat and 4" cat-back with one 4" Magnaflow is pretty loud...

Link to pictures of my car, but nothing new there: http://www.9xxfin.com/varikko/76_0.jpg

PS. If there's someone willing to share 3.0l engine ignition chart I'm very hppy to recieve a PM!!
