Race Car
a little sad for me to see, considering all the detail work you had done.
me, not being a detail person, can appreciate it and I imagine some will be lost on a track car
looks like you guys were having some fun anyway.

We dropped down and pulled away transmission and transaxle with two floorjacks, much easier than separating those under the car. Next time ( if there ever be next time ) I might try to drop engine, transaxle and transmission in one piece. Just put wheeled tray under the engine ( use an egine lift to drop it ) , and a jack with an adapter under the transmission.
I know, chassis can be separated from the complete running gear too, but we did not have a lifter for that...

Winter Saga continues. Pete was real active last week and almost removed everything from the damaged body. Pete has measured the body and found out it has bent too much to be saved. I was with my youngest son Peter to give our hands for a little help to Pete. Our job was mainly to cut off the undamaged side of the body. Pete focused mainly to put Heikki’s car back on wheels again.
Foreman Peter with Pete’s empty 951 body.
Some cuts we made
Empty cabin
Peter check’s out all the cuts has been made properly
Looks empty
On wheels again
Pete & Peter test their saftyequipement
Pete took again some work to his home garage. Peter checkedout the engine is tighted up properly.
So empty
Trial fitment of some parts
Almost complete wiringharness

It'll be at painter's ( on the other side of the wall, that is ) for few weeks, then I'll take it to my garage for engine installation. That should be pretty straight forward to do, no exotic parts fabrication, just bolting on my old ones. Last 1/3rd of exhaust must be repaired, it was bent. Car has to be driven without muffler to the guy who made it...should be fun.
I think it should be ready by the end of January, there's Christmas and my two week's vacation in Jan messing schedules. And it's snowing...

Heikki will get almost too good car, it's so sad to see Pete's car to be ripped down, after all it was the finest 951 i have ever seen. Hope i will recover soon (had my knee operated yesterday) so i can help Pete to finish Heikki's car.

I am sure Pete should managed it
Actually i went to the hospital on monady Morning and walked out in the afternoon. It's just great to see doctor doing his job, i had my own monitor from which i was able to see inside my knee, he also explained all the time what he was doing and also pointed out the damaged parts.Yesterday was a bad day, lot's of pain, but now it's more or less OK. I suppose i can go skating next Sunday

You don't want this pain more than once.

Olli, I'd listen to this man ^. He represented his country in Ice Skating and once played Goofy in 'Disney on Ice'. He took the title too literally and actually was on Ice at the time, but that's another story....
