Frank, that torque is incredible with the K26/6, first time i see a 951 where torque exceeds the hp, by a lot too!

i'm not picking on you hosrom, but every 951 with the stock turbo that i've ever seen has more torque than hp. even stock from the factory they had more torque than hp. when i had a k26/6 it dynoed at 316 tq to the wheels and i never used to run as high boost as some other folks do with the k26/6.

Its quite common

Thanks, but when did this thread become a discussion about the stock turbo? I could give a **** about how much torque one could get out of the stock turbo. Don't post to my thread unless you've got something to say about the Lindsey turbos.

No just sick of every off topic post in every thread these days. Don't do it in my technical posts. I'll mod my own threads since the real mods won't.

I had to say that I was disapointed in the low end torque of the LR turbo's. What's the point in getting a LR turbo if it only has a lot of power and torque above 4500 RPM!?

the 61's and 65's spool up pretty fast. The only laggy one is the 75 which it sounds like I wouldnt have on a 2.5ltr at all. maybe a 2.8 or 3.0 ltr

My post wasn't directed at you, it just fell after yours. I want to get this back on topic and thank you for trying.

Frank, most of the charts I'm seeing for the 61 are spooling very fast and have a ton of torque way before 4500 rpm. Are you only reffering to the 75? I agree with John, that turbo will never spool real fast with out a 2.8 or 3.0l.

I meant was the stock turbo doing 380+ft/lbs torque, with 300hp, torque is up by 80ft/lbs, which is incredible (double than what you have John).

por951turbo: Yes, i got carried away, my bad. I believe now you have enough data on the LR trubos, especially the super 61's being the most popular (for spool and power).

1If you just need tq get a diesel and get on with it....it won't get you there (xxxx km/h) faster but hey, it's tq!

You're missing my point! It's not torque I''m after. What I would like is a car making 300whp with a wide power band. It's is no use to me having a 400hp car without low end torque. It's driveability i'm after!

por951turbo: You're right. The 61 turbo looks the best (to me) of the available LR turbo's. But still not good enough (for my goals). I would love to see the 61 turbo with a smaller hot housing. (I only want 300 whp @ 15psi for my car.)

As soon as I get my laptop going to I will be tuing my 75 and see how much sooner I can get the boost on. Full 18psi at 3,900-4,100 and REAL safe, rich tune.

Leaned out and dead on, will certainly spool up quicker.

And, yes, sooner would be better, but full boost at 3K from an atermarket turbo might also have some driveabily issues. Everytime blip the throttle you are breaking the tires loose. Yyes, fun sometimes but not all the time
