Default Reviews on Lindsey Super Turbos

Who's running a Lindsey super turbo? What are your impressions and which one are you running? How is spool up and what kind of power are you making?

Note Vitesse lovers:
Please do not jump on this thread and hype up Vitesse turbos. I didn't ask about them because I've already heard it all. If I could afford a Vitesse turbo, I would get one.

I'm running a Super 75 / wet / #8 / standard 2.5L capacity.

Dyno graphs HERE from when I first installed the Wolf-3D, so base settings before mapping.

Very happy with the build quality and preparation (grinding the compressor housing to fit and indexing). Usual excellent customer service from Lindsey Racing.

HTH

Rick.

Thanks Rick. How bad is the spool up now that you have it tuned? Do you wish that you would have went with the 65 or 61? What boost pressure were you running for that 327hp run?

I also have Super 75 with #8. A MAF really wakes it up, as I just found out.

In a 4th gear pull, usually 18 psi by 4,200rpm. Not sure about hp, never dyno, but on numerous runs with G tech and stock AFM, 18psi, GURU chips, I was seeing a constant 280-285 to the wheels.

I have talked to Dave L and this is the same one he runs in his street car. Said he runs 23 psi no problem.

If I had it to do over again, I would go a little smaller, but Dave made me a good deal on this one and it really comes alive if you run higher boost, i.e. 15psi +.

Ideally would say Super 75, with smaller hotside, but LR and VR have said you would get compressor surge with really big compressor and small hotside.

Yes, tuning will make a big difference. I now have a/f controller and wideband. So all of my feeling or any results were not dead on tuned.

I don't want to be subjective because of your requests.
Let me give simple facts

There was no maf problem on this car.
My motive was to lower spoolup as best I could using management that I am pretty experienced with. - to make myself look good, of course.
Results are above.

Thanks Todd, I'm leaning more towards the Super 65.

Thanks ST. I know it's hard for you to not be biased in this situation. You are a tunning God, so I hear.

Yea, the 65 seems a nice blend of the 61 and 75.

Now if I can just get ST to come visit Orlando and tune mine for the best spool up that would be perfect

ST, how much gain in spool up did you get with your tuning?

RDK runs a super 61 on his car, i believe he achieved 400+whp @21psi and get's 1bar at ~3,000

Drop him a PM, or maybe he would chime in.

Tunning God, LOL. he got those big HP numbers by accident.

I have a Lindsey super 61 in my 87" 951 (Ieatv8's car) and a SFR Stg I(T04) turbo in my 86"

The Lyndsey produces 349HP @ 15 psi and spools up at 2800rpm
The SFR gives me 298HP @ 19psi and spools up at 3200 rpm
