Will a 968 spoiler bolt on to a 944 hatch?
Do you have to remove the rear spoiler first?

If you get the 968 spoiler still attached to a hatch you can just switch hatches.

I was not sure if you could get away with just the wing, instead of having to go through the trouble of a hatch swap.

Bolting an original 968 wing to a 944 hatch is not straightforward. You will need a 968 hatch, or be able to fabricate mounting brackets.

Check out autospeed there is an article on there on what you need. Thats where the inspiration came from.

What the splitter does do effectively, is reduce air getting under the front of the car. In the back of the car, under the rear bumper, there is a greater opening, which causes air to literally get sucked out from under the car. This creates a low pressure area under the car. Usually, the pressure under the car is lower than the pressure above it. Since air always want to move from a high pressure area to a low pressure area, this in effect creates downforce on the car body.
I see, thanks for the lesson. I think its an awesome idea for someone to measure pressure points around the car, if anybody is gonna do it.... Rich you're the man!

Thanks NZ, now my feelers are hurt. The rear wing on the 951 is so 80’s I love it. A Saturday drive with my pilot glasses, reebocks, and member’s only jacket…….You can’t beat it. Without the wing it would be like owning a 930S and not owning a gold chain and Don Johnson jacket.

Seriously though, the GT racing version of the Lemans spoiler is much nicer in person and does match the back of the car. I’m surprised you think the rear wing stands out over the 1970’s style tail lights and bumper. Hell, the factory wing takes some of the attention off of it.

Again, I chose it for function rather then look. I have 18 CCW wheels (race version) and they come without center caps or polished rim bolts. This coupled with the style don’t make them my favorite rim but for the dollar, it’s hard to beat the functionality.

The Lemans spoiler in person is really almost good enough to give up my 968 wing for. I would in a second if my car was black, I just cant going with my theme of trying to remove the black parts from my car

Sam,

The lemans wing from GT is made of fiberglass and needs to be painted so you can paint it pink if you like .

Sam, if you have a copy of Excellence, look up GT Racing's ad. They have a pic of a guards 924 Carrera GT replica, it has the LeMans wing on the back painted in body color.
