It's a converted GT racing splitter. The guy whom made it posts here under the name 951and944s. His son posts as 87944s. He owns 4 or 5 944/951s and is the only person I let touch my car.

Whoops! My mistake. It must be the North America/RoW thing.

Speaking of UK splitters, I forgot to add this one to the mix from Promax Motorsports. It's shaped like the AIR at the sides, but shallow in depth like the GT Racing splitter....

Do a search, MOST people clearly prefer the AIR splitter. I have seen both and the GT racing is that, a racing part, less form and more function. I would go for the AIR every time,as would the majority of people here.

Also, that Promax one posted costs 370 Pounds. Add shipping and its unbelievably expensive... not an option for those on a budget

I agree with you here. I personally believe the AIR is the nicer looking splitter but I have the GT one because function is 1000 x more important to me then "bling". For me (in general) if it serves no or little functional purpose, it doesn't belong on my cars.

I agree Jeremy. But the AIR also works, so the "bling" philosophy doesn't apply here
It's like comparing a 968 rear wing with a 968 Turbo S rear wing. They both work, but for the average person the difference in performance doesn't mean much so choose by looks.
On a racecar it's another thing though

I don't recall seeing that Promax one before, made of carbon fiber eh?

http://www.flat-6.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11806 I made this thread on Flat-6... decent turnout, 10 votes.

Does anybody know tho, which provides more downforce on the nose and reduction in lift? I would guess that the AIR reduces lift better because it creates a more narrow opening under the car than the GT. But I'm sure the GT provides more downforce on the nose due to its larger surface area. I need to see the GT splitter in real life to make the final judgement, but I KNOW I would like the AIR splitter.

I agree with you Duke and should have clarified it a bit better. While the AIR is functional, popular belief is the GT is the better performer. Maybe/probably most of us will never notice the difference but I am wiling to sacrafice a bit of show for a bit more go. I also picked up the lemans wing to balance it a bit but I believe the 968 wing is much nicer.

Jeremey,
Have you mounted your lemans wing yet? If so how about a picture! This is mine.

if you mean the brake light in the top centre of the hatch, my 89 has one. so does my mate's 89 s2.

The Le Mans wing IMHO makes worse one of the few things seriously dated on the 944, the rear wing. Cant wait for my 968 version!
