No count me in. I've been saving for an E46M, but can put that project off for a while to get those valve stem seals.

Exactly. If you're in a hurry and you need it like, today (you have to get the car back together to drive to work tomorrow or something), then go to the dealer. If you don't mind the timetable too much, guys like Danno are perfect. They care about quality, take their time, are methodical, and bring a true craftsmanship to what you're trying to do that a big outfit wouldn't. The "little guys" tend to stand behind their stuff more too, at least in my experiences.

Porsche-o-phile, it's not the time table that's the problem, it's the lies about the time table is.

Or go to Vitesse.

That doesn't sound like the reports about Danno I've read.

I do not think he is.
Right from the beginning of this thread I knew guys like him are going to come out of the woodwork to defend this " methodical craftsman " .

which is exactly why people keep purchasing and get caught in this trap, they see these glowing reports, some of whom are from people who never even purchased anything, and get misled.

vitesse is one of the "little guys" too, but he delivers everything when he says he will and his products work as advertised.

I have to admit - I'm surprised this thread has gone this far.

Guys, it's pretty simple - if you don't like GURU and or Danno, don't do business there. If you're not happy - spend your money somewhere else and quit bitching.
What really amazes me is some of you actually admit to being disappointed more than once! The first bad experience is the vendor's fault. If you go back to buy again - and aren't happy - who's really to blame?
For my experience - I was down to two vendors for chips for my upcoming K27 upgrade based on owners satisfaction on this board. The other starts with a V. Cost was not a factor. I wanted the best product, period. I knew there might be some delays with Danno but eveyone on the 'List' agrees his chips rock. I had some questions before I ordered - V says "Email me", GURU has a fone number. I like to to talk when I have technical questions. So I called. Danno answered on the 3rd ring and spent abt 30 mins answering all my questions (and offered some great advice that I didn't think to ask). My HG arrived a week later. My chips and WG, he said would be an additional 7-10 days as he was waiting for some WG cores. I guess we'll see.
For my needs a phone number was what I needed - not an Email.
I honestly beleive Vitesse is one of the best 951 vendors out there, so no jab at him at all...

If my chips are 2 or 3 weeks late, I won't like it. But I think everyone on the "list" knows the risks with this vendor. Many have had good experiences. Do you blame the casino when you come home broke from Vegas?
Hopefully this will be the last post on this...

casino will never lie to you about your odds. ordering parts should not be compared to a casino, that's rediculous. if you call a vendor and they flat out lie to you telling you the item is in stock and ready to ship or you'll get the item at a certain time don't get it for several months later, that's bullship and that's all there is too it.

well based on my experience with purchasing a rebuilt wastegate from Danno. It took about a 3 week turn around from me sending him my extra wastegate to receiving the rebuilt one.

everyone on here is going to post either a negative comment or a postive. I have had a postive time with danno and i still plan on doing business with him. Like other people said. if u don't like to do business with him then don't. Take you business elsewhere. Not trying to be a D**k just the truth and we should stop posting negative comments about vendors as it should be.

I as well have had only positive transactions with Danno.......but so many people here have not......to the point where you could make calendar out of the numerous complaints.......you can't say the same about Vitesse-Lindsey or SFR.........there is a difference.....and if people want to post about the poor service they receive then they should be allowed to!

Alls fair in love and business.......

What a trip.

A vendor can keep someone waiting for 3 months and there are still folks there to defend.

If he took 3 months for 50%, the the other 50% narrow minded idiots would ignore that.

if someone gets a prompt call back he doesn't care who else is ripped off? how old and self-centered is this person?

So if a buddy of yours robs convenience stores, he an ok guy because he didn't rob you?

This makes no sense.

I'm sure I'll get the flame, but reading the posts shows me a lot of narrow minded folks, like guru racing is a politica party that you support regardless of the facts.

Flame away, I'm not even going to respond!
