Nicely done. You are a great story teller, very artistic. Kudos.

Wife watched the film with me.

You should have seen her face when I told her it was the same care that Jim and I used her suburban to tow home from Elizabeth City.

Complete shock.

Similar response from my gf today when I told the same story. What a great story that was!
Been thinking about you, hope all is well. Lets catch up soon!

THAT really came together well. Fantastic. Glad the car is in good hands and being recognized for what it is!

Very cool - love the video and the purity of design in number 1 that it demonstrates. The cars look so much more alive and yearning to be driven when viewed at speed than in a static picture Really revives the passion we all have for the 928.

Drew,

Simply a great representation of the character of the 928 and past and current owners. I particularly liked the reference to Stanley Kubrick & Steve Jobs.

I too have always enjoyed the unique characters that I have met through 928 ownership. This group on Rennlist is a good example. 928 Owners Club activities are another source of fun, knowledge and lasting friendships. A new generation of owners is appearing who are beginning to appreciate what we have known for years are great cars. Serious collectors are finally figuring 928's out and are wondering how they were influenced to ignore the 928 in the past. Financial appreciation is rewarding those of us who have been willing to maintain our driver sharks, and especially reward those who would resist driving them. I was never one to resist driving my sharks... they were simply too much fun!

Over the years I have chuckled at the notion that 928's are expensive to maintain. Hmmmmm, I've owned quite a few 911's and given the rebuilds at 100k for my early cars, head stud and valve guide failures of the 3.2's and recently IMS failures, the 928's seem inexpensive.

Several hundred thousand miles of seat time in 928's have taught me what wonderful machines we have discovered.

This might be a bit of overkill when a simple "Thanks" would do.

Enjoy!

No one missed it, as it was just released yesterday. This is a variation of the Christophorus film that was only viewable with the phone app and a print version of the magazine.
Very nice video. Thank you for the link, and the preservation of "old #1".

Hey Nate!

That is not my car, it is a late production prototype that was probably finished around November 76 - January 77. I refer to it as "White with black door handle car" as it has a black handle on the driver door. It was prominently featured in AutoCar March 12 1977 but made earlier appearances as well. Other notable features are the lack of rear wiper and unfinished or darkish color wheels with no center caps. Incidentally there was a "red with black door handle" prototype as well. I wonder what the black handles, on the driver door only, was all about.

Thanks for the pointing out the differences. Very interesting. Wonder if they painted the door handle black just to get an idea of what it looked like in contrast to the body color? My guess is they were considering painting the handles black. By only doing the drivers side they could quickly compare and contrast by walking around to the passenger side, maybe?

The latter stage of the 928 prototype era 75-76 is a pretty mysterious place. I'll be sharing more on this later.
