The oe strainer is going back in...I was having flow problems with that screen because it's so fine and was significantly restricted by old fuel gunk. An overnight soak in wd-40 rust remover soak followed by another overnight bath in laquer thinner made it like new again.

Another case of better quality than what made it into production...how many 40 year old plastic strainers can you "service" ?

Just so happens the thread size is smaller on the first few thousand cars too, and those strainers are NLA.

I'm with you on the smaller strainer. #30 has the small strainer. I ended up popping the old strainer off the hub, and popping a new version onto the old hub. That worked great. As you know it is a press fit.

Great thread drooman, I saw your video a few months ago with #1 and loved seeing it and hearing about the background. I'm following this thread and hope to see your car at some point. The car that is in my possession has been in my family for the past 30 years, so we have loved 928s for a very long time. Keep up the good work! And keep posting on this thread.
