Thanks porken, I'll keep that open airbox mod up for ideas, but I think i might drill holes, but if that doesn't work i'll get back to you. Plus the reason i'm using bungie cords is that i don't have any more rubber straps that went on there before and the filter will never ever come off lol.

Thanks,

I would aways use the cover. there is a big difference in the temps of the air. the intake tubes, with a couple of more vents (more than the 928trackcars.com/kibort ) pics still draws big pieces of rubber off the front of the car, meaning the force of the air is still quite big, to be pulling large pieces of rubber and rocks from the front of the car, up over the radiator, through the tubes, and stuck in the air filter. whatever air took that debrie up , it would be very cool compared to a filter with no cover. all that air mass that took the debris up, would not be used by the engine without the cover attached . even vented, its amazing that there is that much Vacuum. I have as much area vented to the rear of the air box as I do with the 2 stock sized tubes going to the radiator openings.
something to consider.

Mark, the only airbox pic i saw was the one of with the "eRam'' on top of it..I saw the big tube going out the back of the airbox, is that it?
Also, if i drilled holes into the airbox cover and left that on and the tubes..would that create more vacuum so that the air over the hood inlet would be sucked in more?
Thanks,

Here's a picture of an ROW MAF sensor. This is the same size diameter as the elbow and the throttle plate on a "Euro" car. This is an '85 S2, which is a 2 valve car with the same LH-jetronic as a latter car.
