Yeap, some concrete evidence

BaT dealer is a know-it-all but wouldn't produce repairs bills/receipts on the site. Only to the winner of the auction. I agree that the car is not worth more than $20k USD. Originality is gone. 10-15% depreciation for every accident and it has had 3! If his reserve is $35-40k USD, he's dreaming.

I swear it's like pulling teeth with you around here.

I don't doubt anything, in my 25+ years of 928 ownership I've seen some very odd things come out of the factory & dealerships.

I think the largest question on this GT, which hasn't been addressed by the dealer, is what the heck maintenance was done to incur over $21K in insurance claims in 2000?

This car is one of 2 VINs produced for Canada only according to the Production Info over at the 928OC.

Erkka'a position was that this was one of 2 built without airbags as he states in this post.

Though he doesn't explain how he knows that, only his theory on why it was built without one.

And of course let us not forget that Lambright put a $75K value on this if selling it in China.

Even if it has 'theoretical' issues, it's a GT and that means it's not an automatic--- and that means it's a better driving machine than any 'mint' S4/GTS that's hampered with a slushbox. I've noticed that the buyers that are interested in a 5-speed 928s, 'only consider manuals'. So this car should never be compared to any automatic as far as history-condition-maintenance, it's a totally different value proposition. Savvy buyers know this.
I don't think this car is worth over $25k given the multiple accidents. Bidding hasn't done much yet, has it? I'd certainly pay more for a nice, accident free auto than for a rough GT. I HIGHLY doubt that this rough example drives nearly as good as a properly maintained auto GTS.

Ok so this one is going to be fun to watch on BaT. Chiffonweiß '84 auto with only 5,978 miles! This is killer.

[edit] Erkka says the other is an S4 w/o airbags. He's a very knowledgeable guy, I would still say there is a story as to why this car doesn't have airbags and a mismatch dash/console....

1990 GT currently for sale in CA now with airbags:

Beautiful 928. MW had one similar to this one for sale a while back. Maybe this is it?

Seller just posted some history on it. Looks like it was not a MW car.

As an owner of the best model year 928 as well, , I would love to inspect this thing for about a month just to figure out what I would need to eventually do to mine to get it to near factory condition.

Last year GTS for sale in Japan:

http://goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars...001/index.html

50K USD with approximately 40K miles on the odo. Other than the incorrect wheels it looks to be in decent condition. Even has the jump post cover!
