928 Values - 32k mile 86.5 on BAT - SOLD $52,000
This could be a good indicator of 928 values, at least online. I suppose private party in person sales could be different (I don't know if that is higher or lower).

This is the car I built in the "penance" thread. BAT suggests I blanket all of the sites I frequent with the link to drive traffic to it.
Well, its this site and.... not many others.
To me, this is exciting and gratifying. Sometimes you toil away in your garage - knowing that this is your hobby, and the point is not for others to ooh, and ahh. The point is the car, the mechanicals, the knowledge you have invested time in achieving.
But sometimes - just sometimes - its good to hear positive comments from around the enthusiast community.
I think that it will be interesting where the price goes, and how the bidding happens. And its red, so I can't keep it anyway.

Is this a no reserve auction?

Hey Dan.
Bald Guy to Bald guy (If I remember correctly when I met you - I remember cowboy boots) - Yes - there is a reserve.
Generally, on values, I feel there is still much randomness. While high tide lifts all boats, and the 928 is still the small fisherman trauler being lifted with the tide along with the Yacht that is the air cooled 911s - there are still people watching my auction that probably think it will not get much past 20.
And it may not. But sometimes planets align, its the right season, its tax season and people give the government free loans until late April, etc - and it may go way, way higher.
I know which one would make me happier. And I know money doesn't buy happiness, but it buys race cars, which is essentially the same thing.

It seems like the crazy air-cooled market may finally be having some impact on the water cooled market. This 944 Turbo S is at $32.5 on BAT with still 5 hours to go. Its a nice example, but I was searching 944 Turbos years ago before deciding to buy a 928. This car would have been in the high teens a few years ago.

Looks very nice BC! I have a feeling the Porsche bubble will burst, so taking advantage of this market is smart if you want to cash out. I thought about selling some of mine but can't bring myself to do it. I love them too much and that's all that really matters to me. However, it sure does make my wife more comfortable with my car hobby when I show her all these big dollar 928's for sale.

I have an 88 auto and a GT that need to go through the pattern, so....

This is what people said 2-3 years ago about the air cooled market. To me it seems like the major auto manufacturers are creating and riding these classic car waves. Magnus Walker is a key component for Porsche right now, anything he posts on social media turns to gold. I also saw a BMW commercial the other day showing the new 2 series going head to head with a 35 year old 2002. You have to watch the market from many different angles now compared to 25 years ago, IMHO the 928 will make some huge waves in the near future.

I found a pretty cool new set of buildings with interesting wood features and newish plants and said "shoot it" - and it was done. I think its okay, and the lighting we got was really nice. Some of the pics really pop - I have others as well that they didn't post.
My son's 13 year old friend (girl - art type student) shot these pics for most of the shots except underside. Not bad, I'd say.

With all the work and parts and the way this one represents and given the stated mileage, its a steal below $20k, I'd be looking for $25 to $30k or walk away, no sale.
Just a thought, just replace the tires and fix anything that isn't working if you expect top money, then it's a no excuses turn key car, the add almost reads that way
The recent Panoroma mag shows the prices are up on the nice, non-hacked up and correctly repaired 928's too
