Default Hello

Greetings everyone, and thank you for the kind words on the car, the process, BC, and BaT. I am the winning bidder, and I am extremely excited for this car. I agree the 86.5 in a special 928, and I like the "GTS of OB cars" moniker! More importantly, this car underwent a remarkable process at the hands of a remarkable enthusiast. That's why there were so many of us vying for it at the end of the auction. Three cheers for BC. The car will be at the Werks Reunion in August, and I sincerely hope BC will be there with me and the 928 as well.

Welcome and I hope your investment will serve you well.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching the auction unfold from the other side of the world, tucked up in bed wondering with 10 minutes left whether it would crack the $30k barrier!

Rgds

I've just been hanging around, mostly on the 911/964/996 sections. But this special car has been *alive* on rennlist - and I think it would be a shame to let the story end. I'll be more visible (at least in the 928 section) going forward.

BC, congratulations- all that effort was properly rewarded, and the buyer should be tickled with the car.

Good to see you posting deichenb. Maybe this was we can add to my penance thread. I'll Upload the latest bat pics to it at least.

Oh - and any pics I get of transport, etc. That should be cool.

Really excited about the process, and looking forward to seeing if I can get to werks in August.

Welcome! Always great to see another 86.5 owner...and this one is a true flagship car.

Default Welcome deichenb!

As I have been preaching for years, a fine 928 is worthy of values well in excess what we often talk about as "reasonable" on this forum. For the true 928 enthusiast without "unlimited" means, it is unfortunate that value and respect in the collectible community have to go together. That is just reality.

Happy for BC for what I don't find as a surprising result, but rather a proper result.

Through other forums, I have known of David for many years, and he is a welcome addition to this forum as a true enthusiast and knowledgeable collector.

Congrats to both of you, 86.5 S cars are special in their own right.

Default Thank You Thank You!

Thank you for the warm welcome to the 928 community! I gave BC my word that I'd be a good custodian to his expertly-resurrected 928, and I agree it's a special car with the LSD, special chassis, and 5-speed mated to the 86.5 mechanical/body package. I even love that it's Guards Red.

Couldn't agree more. A 928 as good as this one is worth every bit of the $52k and the 86.5 is extremely special!
