Well, A for effort, but sorry - I've got you beat. I'm the most useless and annoying member.

Considering how mild the winter is so far, cabin fever is setting in really early on RL this year.

Thanks for all your input.

It's been very revealing that the moment someone doesn't agree with your point of view or the way you would handle a situation you attempt to shame, degrade, and generally put them down. There were a few constructive criticisms and I appreciate that. I will continue to remain on this forum just to aggravate the few of you who made rude and useless comments as apparently you have nothing better to do.

Take care and Merry Christmas (I hope that offends someone).

So, Murf, seriously....

I scoured around awhile and hopefully found a source for your gas cap.

This dude in Tennessee advertises parts for your car. Text him and find out. Hopefully this will help you.
Good luck.

Murf-- You weren't attacked because of your opinion. You were attacked because you posted something with the apparent intent of harming someone many on this list consider a close personal friend. When friends and family are threatened, it's only natural for us to rise in defense.

Had you warned us against some EBay retailer none had done business with, the reaction would have been entirely different. Some would have suggested working with the retailer to resolve the issue. Others would have offered detailed suggestions on how to get EBay or PayPal to refund your money. All would have accepted your story at face value. Asked to choose between a fellow rennlister or an unknown retailer, we're going to believe the rennlister by default.

That wasn't the choice you gave us. You asked us to choose between you and Mark. Given Mark's well earned reputation for integrity and outstanding customer service, a relatively unknown poster like yourself is going to need a lot of evidence before most on this list will give any credence to a complaint of being screwed -- particularly when it appears you put virtually no effort into resolving things with Mark before going public.

That CL ad shows the seller's name is Craig with an area code 423 (tri-cities TN)
I got taken on a 928 parts purchase from a guy named Craig Laycock from the same area code 423. Took my money, never responded.
I just suggest being careful with the seller in the CL link.
May want to ask his full name.

Thanks Jadz928. I'll be careful and check him out. I still have some LE contacts with the Feds when I was detached to a task force with them. Maybe he needs to be stopped.

Hi Murf,
You sound like a decent guy. I think that you, like I, did not understand exactly how 928 Intl inventory works. They are a junkyard or automobile disassembler. Their inventory is constantly changing and they are a mom and pop style shop. A lot of us are used to larger more corporate style merchants with deep inventories of each item. That's not going to happen for us. 928's are an endangered species of sorts, and we need 928 Intl to keep us afloat. You do too. Please cut them some slack and let them know that you'd like the gas cap when it comes in, and you'll use you credit and paid shipping at that time. I bet you'll get it pretty darn soon.
Please find a way to swallow just a little pride and try to work with them. When you get the part, let us know it worked out in the end. Apology is not needed, because you really did nothing wrong, but would make you look like a bigger person, ultimately. I hate to see any 928 enthusiast walk away from this forum, it's the best, or 928 Intl.
Good luck,
Dave

Perhaps they could send you a scale picture of it and you could cut and paste.
