I think it's a demonstration of incredible restraint that nobody called my bluff on my wing...;-)

You were demeaning the idea of a BIG wing. No issues with that cute little thing flapping off the back of your little red pedal car, for sure.

Thinking of fitting a thin rubber footer made from a template of the spoiler's mount faces for paint protection and weather-proofing.

It looks as if the bolt holes will come through right next to the hatch wall instead of center line. We'll need to make an indent in the hatch wall so the bolt heads & backing plate will clear and sit square / flat. Any ideas on how to do that without completely screwing up the hatch or, heaven forbid, busting the window? Just trying to think this through...

Thanks! Joel
you can just dremmel the material away that leaves a window to get the bolt into the hole and up into the stock S4 wing. i think the indentation method might be tough to achieve, but a nice hole cut to get the bolts in and out would look fine and be effective.

Punch in left hand... Sledge in right... No going back! The finger is for the purists... which I am not... LOL!!

Buccicone filling, sanding, filling, sanding, prep, primer & paint... It took some doing - this was not the BEST quality FRP in the world, but we got it looking good.

Mounted...

The wing accents the outside dimensions of the bumper and the semi-gloss black breaks up the platinum / gold nicely.

Little closer look...

Some random shots with the wing & front bra hood singlet for rocks & bugs...

Another overt display of the new stereo for the purists

My youngest daughter and her first time behind the wheel of the new to me 928... That smile is PRICELESS

Well... it's been a while and it took TWO attempts to get the FRP spoiler cleaned up, filled, sanded, primer & painted and mounted! Came out pretty nicely for a bunch of shade tree mechanics!!

Gotta admit I was NERVOUS AS HELL prior to hitting the first mark with the punch! We measured FOUR times and taped down two templates made from the bottom footer of each mount so the holes lined up perfectly. Used a small punch (see above) prior to using initial small drill bit, then we used a "stepped" drill bit so each hole was the same diameter. Perfect cuts, with no chipping or cracking of the paint on the top side. After we drilled the holes, I used a short 21 mm socket on an extension and the small sledge to indent the side panels of the hatch with very minimal collateral damage - remember, tape & heat are your friends. It didn't take much convincing as we only had to make enough room to align the 10 mm mounting bolts with a narrow allen head over trimmed down washers... easy - peasy! We still need to clean it up and touch up the underside, but it'll have to wait until the motor mounts & exhaust swap is done this weekend.

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THE INSIGHTS, IDEAS, AND SUGGESTIONS

Later!!!

Nooooooooo... Only to / from long distances and on spirited runs with a bunch of high performance cars on back country roads with some questionable surfaces, some gravel, etc. Took it off once we got home and it's sitting with the rest of the bra in the garage. I'll use the whole thing for long runs down the interstate - especially the PA Turnpike - it's like driving through a sand blasting machine. Clear bra will be applied as soon as I can save up the major $$$$$

Hello Joel!

That is wicked bitchin'! That black wing is a nice contrast with the subtle gold paint.
