Yeh, well the postage ain't. $57.00 (AU$78) to post that small item. Plus I'm big believer of using used parts if I can. Non important parts that is.

If you are talking about the center vertical it is $25.86.
Shipping down under is $20 or less.

Yeh, sure did. Done lots of stuff already. Runs really well know. When it was running in darkness the old leads were like a light show. I've seen some bad ones but this thing was arcing everywhere, to the point it was jumping between boots on the rotor caps! New leads, plugs, caps and rotors and changed a couple of injectors and now it lights 'em up. Just doing an intake job and pump and belt job then it's clutch time. I also ripped out all that wiring for the old stereo and reglued the door trims. Dropped the suspension back to slightly lower than stock. All in all it's not to bad.

These cars are big jobs and I just thought to myself why make my life harder when I didn't have the storage space to take that car on. I can tell you from experience that the restoration process needs to be well planned and methodical. I have done two full restos and they are expensive even when you are careful.
Just in case it's helpful I use a freight forwarder in the States and I often combine the shipping. This makes the shipping component less. When I was buying my inconel exhaust which is big and bulky but very light for the size I would order small heavy parts like the raw material for the valve seats and guides which comes in solid bars. This way I maximised the weight and size for airfreight. So I would never just buy one part like the centre front strut.
In case you aren't aware, that part was NLA for many years and Mark Anderson commissioned a copy. Also the head light surrounds and vents for the brakes were NLA. These are parts I would grab if you need them because the plastic on our cars is not getting any younger. That is the main reason I would only buy new for these commonly broken parts. Same goes for the front spoilers, Roger had a great special on these recently and I missed that. It would be great to buy all those parts new ship them together and have them as back up as they wont be around forever.
Cheers
