The wires go on plugs on the bottom not shown. The wheel has a piece of copper on it that travels the spring for resistance. The spring is held into the channel on the end that is on the top part of the pic. The copper on wheel slides down the spring under the bridge (metal bar on bottom of pic) when this is done the spring pops out of channel and hits the metal bridge and makes contact.

I will post the VIN when title is in hand. I'm traveling to ct monday to get it and stay for a week.
Today's find is that it needs wiper fluid hose or something it pumps but ends up on the ground. Headlight fluid sprays good, just not windshield or rear window.
I'd really like to know the value of the car, ballpark 5k 10k 15k 20k etc.
Kbb says 2k to 16k if I remember correctly.

The car is an early one - it has the really early dash/door air vent design which was superseded mid-way through the first year of production. It also appears to be originally a US car, unless its had the fenders replaced as part of its repaint.
Ok, I just looked back through your pics... the VIN appears from your photos to be xxxxxx209, confirming the above as an early US-delivered car. (VIN is on the DOT sticker on the driver's door jamb).

Well i didn't want the VIN number posted and I didn't see that on the pic. Only because if the of owner as of right now (my father) gets a phone call and someone bothers him. I will have hell to pay. Let's just say he is not the nices person in the world. I lost 10 years of my life due to stress getting this far with it.
I'm not worried about him selling it to anyone but me. Anyhow this sounds so childish but then again in his eyes I'm still 4..

Hard to know without a lot more pics. The repaint hurts and raises the question "why?", but so far it looks pretty safely >$25k given the levels of originality on the rest of the car, and in particular the seat fabric. Do you have documentation supporting the history/mileage?

Thanks for all the info. I took her down the road today she is really running good, the question I have is the manual transmission linkage is it real loose? it is on this car to the point where when you are in 4th gear the shifter will easily move left and right 6 inches. is that normal?
Reverse and 1st gear are a bitch to get into. not that it don't go in but it would rather hit 3rd all the time instead of 1st.

The only gotcha - heat the grub screw in the rear coupler a *lot* with a mini blow torch.. its held in with loctite, not torqued, so f it doesn't unscrew, heat it some more. You don't want to strip the head on it!!

However the US VIN range starts at 00011, so its the 199th 928 made for the North American market (there were likely around 1000 RoW 928's built by this time IIRC - production for US market started a few months later).
