Default IV test ...

... passed with flying colors!

Moving band from end to end causes valve to open and close smoothly.
When closed, valve does not allow flow from mouth blow. As valve opens, flow increases seemingly proportionally.

Not real life but I'm satisfied.

Fifteen gallons of fourteen year old gas removed and fed to F150.
Fresh E0 fuel for the 928.
Fuel gauge never worked but does now after cleaning sender.
Good flow of fresh E0 to the front.

Injectors were cleaned and tested a long time ago but now only one clicks. I suppose they are gummed up from sitting so long. What is a good injector for the 86.5 and where is a good place to get them? Thanks.

I know I'll get flack for this, but, here it is:

Of the eight new 24# injectors,

2 = ~125cc in 30 secs (appropriate for 24#)
6 = ~100cc in 30 secs (more like 19#)

P.S. The one original that still clicks tested as the 6 "19#ers". According to >>> this <<< the 280150706 should be 20.35 lb/hr at 2.5 bar which would be 106 oz in 30 seconds.

That may be the best bench testing set up I have ever seen. Well done.

Thanks. It works quite well. It holds a quart so I can get multiple runs. For safety sake, I used mineral spirits. Hope that is safe for injectors.
When changing injector size, is a new tune required or does the computer automatically compensate?

I would not plan on any real compensation from our stock ‘86 computer. It will just batch fire injectors. You could try and balance the 19’s and 24’s ratio on each bank but I wouldn’t.
You will want 24 pounders all around.
I assume your have 86 FPR as well.
If you are looking for 24’s I have used Five0 Motorsports and been pleased. They aren’t the cheapest but arrive promptly and pre tested flow rates and even dead times, they run a little higher at 25 pounds if I recall.

Thanks. I took a chance and bought >>> KSM <<<. They were supposed to be matched. Should have known better by the price. Still waiting to see what they'll do to make it right as I most certainly will not install them as they are. Also reached out to Roger to see what he has but haven't gotten reply yet. Otherwise I'm considering these >>> ACCEL <<<. Anyone know good or bad about them?

P.S. When I asked about compensation, I meant all at 19 vs 24, not mismatched.

Got it. Fair question.
I’m sure someone has run 19’s in an S3 with probable success. But then you are in the weeds pretty fast with S3 fuel mapping, I guess would see an issue at load even if the LH can compensate? You would want a higher pressure S4 regulator. Boy, Porken would be the absolute authority for this stuff.
Bare minimum I would try to tune it after with a wideband, dial throttle bypass and maf at idle.
But it sounds like hypothetical if you are getting 24’s
Roger can give you good info on best injector info.
