Default My trip west from dayton to LA

Left dayton yesterday, almost to Tulsa today. Car is doing great. Getting about 18-20mpg in the MO hills. I have had no issues, not bad for a very long trip in a not really tested car. I do need to get my windshield replaced or re sealed. Rain like to make it in. And it's got some nice wind noise. Door seals could not hurt either.

Weeeeee

You should have let us know you were in Missouri!
We could have got outside with the scatter gun and shot some dinner!

Made it to Oklahoma city. hope to be in ABQ tomorrow.

i need to tune the low load/rpm fuel cells on the Mega Squirt around 80mph, running a tad lean.

i did notice a few oil drops coming off the starter. not enough to make anything else dirty.. ill have to check it out when we get to our new home.

Yes, 8 can be very exciting, especially near Juarez, depending on the color of your skin.

Never Mind. You wouldn't be down by Juarez if you are at ABQ.

Leak off atarter is probably the oil pan. I snugged my bolts and the leak stopped. Same with my cam towers

Route 66 into LA?

Some of it may be monotonous, but boy you'll gobble up the miles fast.

Jake, are we there yet?

Let me know when you land. Plus I need your moving boxes after you unpack, please.

The real Rt 66 drive from NM is interesting at some spots, but the road isn't as well maintained in several sections. Low-profile tires on a lowered/sagged 928 might not be the best choice. I picked up I40 in Amarillo last time I came that way, and rode it into California. There's some weather headed across that way now, enough that you should watch carefully for possible snow in northern AZ and NM. I10 through the bottom of TX/NM/AZ through Tucson and Phoenix will be a little warmer, but a lot depends on where you are when you need to decide, since the roads are almost a full state apart through there. Texas is almost two driving-days wide and one tall. But you knew that...

Travel safe, hope to see you soon!
