Good call. I'll substitute "Rennlist Discussion Forums".

Another Order is in! Easy Peasy, Lemon Squeezy. It was a breeze to Order from Amazon and Shawn's instructions were terrific.

Went perfectly well.

Shawn, you should get it by Tuesday, June 10.

Thank you very much.

That being said, it is possible to mount a dial outside of the foot locations, but the pins have to be cut off and the dial mounted using something like double-sided tape. This is possible, but it is outside what Duarte has contracted to do for $25. If your favorite is a 3 o'clock case, then I recommend you buy just a dial and I'll put you in touch with Duarte.
Shawn,

I asked for two reasons: First, you've listed several movements that I cannot find examples of with crowns at the 4 o'clock position. I'm concerned others might send you watches with 7S36 movements (or another that you've listed) that won't work because the crown is in the wrong position. In that regard, since the dial has the day/date window at 3 o'clock, perhaps the dial you've had made are compatible with all the listed movements without regard to the crown position?

Second, I prefer some of the newer automatic movements you've listed because they're hackable and have a reputation for slightly greater accuracy. If they're compatible with the dial, without regard to the crown location, I might go in that direction.

Here's a dumb question: Which is the shipping address for the watch?

Hi David. Yeah, sorry if listing the movements is confusing. That's a list I received from Duarte. Consider those advanced instructions for those comfortable with the concept of Seiko watch modding. The best thing for most of us is going to be to order a watch from the Amazon list.

In that regard, since the dial has the day/date window at 3 o'clock, perhaps the dial you've had made are compatible with all the listed movements without regard to the crown position?
The dial will fit in a case with a 3 o'clock crown location (the movements are identical), but it will be shifted counter-clockwise if you use the existing dial feet (pins). Does that make sense?

Second, I prefer some of the newer automatic movements you've listed because they're hackable and have a reputation for slightly greater accuracy. If they're compatible with the dial, without regard to the crown location, I might go in that direction.
In order to get the dial to line up correctly, the watch smith will have to reposition the dial feet. This is a common approach, but more time-consuming and expensive. If this is the way you want to go, order a dial and get in touch with Duarte or one of several other watch smiths with excellent reputations in the Seiko community and they can easily do that work for you.

I hope this helps!

Shawn what happens with the original dial that is taken off the watch?
Will it be sent along in the box with the watch? That could be of interest for me.
