Yes, I used a long cobalt bit at an angle....tore the hell out of the bolt!

Ha! Me, too, and I have at least two interiors, 2 engines and 2 transmissions along with various supporting parts. Three sets of front suspension components, from a '78, '80 and an '85.... Oh, yeah, its a good time for a car guy!

And thank goodness you got the bolt out and didn't push the car over... I would have met it at the bottom and stripped more parts (that I probably don't need). You've just saved my marriage!

To get mine off I used a allen socket, attahed to a wobble extension, attached to my air impact driver... The hammering action of the impact driver loosened the bolt when nothing else worked

Hand impact drivers can work wonders. HF sells a box of 100 security bits, torx etc., for $8, work great when you want to hammer a bit into a pesky fastener.

Main tip, always make sure the bit is fully seated before applying force.

Glad to hear you got it out.

Impacts are another good thing too. I love using impacts on the 928 for any rusty fasteners if i can get them in there.

You will find that most decent sized cliffs already have a huge pile of 928s stacked up, all the way to the very top. Very difficult to find a cliff that actually has room for any more of these cars. Almost always, if you try to push another one over, it simply rolls back, rolling over your foot, of course.

Don't heat the bolt, chill it. Put a piece of dry-ice on it to shrink it down, Dry-ice is about -85 degrees below zero and will cause the bolt to contract and break free, BUT DON"T touch it till the bolt comes back to ambient temp. At -85 degrees the bolt WILL snap like it's glass.
