Unbelievable !
Oh Boy.
As I was looking at things to line up my tools, I see I don't have much clearance. I hope I have enough to pull the bolt !

Hallelujah (or however it's spelt).
It was tight, but bolt it is now re-seated. The thought of disassembling, and lowering, because of one sealing ring would have been painful.

I think of myself as a good amateur mechanic, but I don't think I would l have had the nerve to tackle what you did here. Something about laying on my back with a transmission above my head scares me. So, I am very impressed with what you've done.

Good luck with the final stages of assembly and with the test run. You obviously pay attention to every detail; I'm sure you'll be happy with the result.

Why thanks rider.
I remember I had the same feeling with my first timing belt and top end jobs. I had no idea what I was doing at that time, but there were substantial resources to turn to for planning and doing the job(s). I have gotten better over time and more confident. I am a 51 year old quasi retired EM/Trauma Doc and I feel there is nothing that can't be done with the proper know how. My pastime with this car now is actually an interesting dynamic for me. I used to never bring my 'work' home intentionally as a desensitizing defense mechanism for many of the horrors and sadness that I would see. Working on the car, and doing some major things on it, allows me to bring 'home' my style and mantra outside of the workplace. Plus I like driving it. Well enough of the Dr Phil stuff, and no my pastime was not on the recommendation of a shrink !

Filled to, and stabilized at 20 deg mark. Letting it run to warm to the Min/Max lines while I write this.
I do note some water drips from both the seal joints at the pre-muffler. I seated them well. ?

Tempted to but...
waiting for the riv nuts to arrive to finalize my belly pan aches and am going to clear the old coolant and get some G 05 in there. Also have to check my tension as part of the coming out of hibernation ritual. Then I'll get her off the stands.

Glad you got the parcel.

Craig, been following the saga....wow!. It looks like you will be on the road again.

Owls Head car and plane show is May 25/26. I think I'll be up in Maine, not sure which 928 ( silver 89 is up there now) but will probably try and get to the show.

Hopefully see you and the boys there.

Great thread and great job , you are a braver man than I for tackling that project.

Bob
