Thanks Ryan. I have limited myself so far to places like jegs and summit. Sorting by 3" pipe diameter. Jegs had 3 choices and summit had 23. I don't recall seeing magnaflow being offered. I will expand my search and see if I can find something to compare.
Glad you made it home safe.

Brian,
they arent expensive, have all sizes inputs/outputs/single /double, etc and are stainless......mine are twin 3.5" tips with rounded exit lips.....great looking and very subtle, not "droney" on the highway...

I am looking for the line between obnoxious and "hey, what was that?"

This is the one that we went with. I liked it so much that we got two.
We will put one in the middle straight section and potentially replace the hideous can at the rear with the other. I am focused more today on tuning the car and getting the CIS dialed in rather than the quest for the perfect exhaust tone.
Hopefully we will have video by the end of the day!!

So last Saturday, after the video below was shot, we evened out the idle and felt good about driving it off of the lift and around the parking lot. I made it three car lengths before the clutch hit the floor. Apparently the upper clutch hose, closest to the master was riding on the headers and developed a weak spot that finally blew.
For those who have followed this thread you know that I have replaced the master, the slave, the blue hose the clutch disks and the entire line closest to the slave. The only section not replaced was what failed.
We hope to get it on the lift this morning and find a way to remove the damaged section. It is very tight in normal situations and the headers just make it more difficult. We had discussed having the replacement available to reinstall today but we may end up having a custom line made with the fittings that we remove. I may need more line than stock to route around and away from the headers.
Just another adventure

Long time no post.
The clutch line was replaced in short order but the car was stalling out under load. The fuel distributor has now been rebuilt by Garage 928 and here is a video.

It still has a few issues to work out. With the 3" exhaust and little in the way of exhaust restriction, we think that we may need to change it up a little to develop some back pressure.
We will see but I am glad that we are close and it is in good hands.

Progress to date:
Jan 2013- removed interior to begin rehab- less than 300 miles put on it since
New Carpet Set- Robb Budd
New pod cover - Robb Budd
Center console recovered.
Dash recover- Dean Fuller
Rear interior Qtr Panels removed, straightened, redyed - Leatherique
Recovered front seats Vinyl with memory foam seat inserts.
Re-dyed all interior pcs left to match
GTS shifter- Dyed Cork
Rear seat delete
Tool tray delete
Door locks re-keyed to match ignition - 928 international
Replaced transmission with a smooth shifting G28/03 with LSD
2015 Glass out body work and paint prep (documented in this thread)
2016 Pulled engine.......... and it all went downhill from here
16V Headers
928 Motorsports Y pipe
3" Exhaust
M28/11 4.7 Euro engine (Very low compression)
Starts and drives but cannot stand much load other than driving onto your trailer.
I am so over it. IF someone was interested in taking this project home I could sell it for $6000, even though I have twice that in it. I know of a solid 928 I could pick up for that and have a car for SITM.
I am sure I would regret it but at this point I am just bored with the whole process. It was a lot of fun working on this the last 4 years but it has been out of my hands for 2 of the last four years and I am ready to move on.
