That's going to be an expensive welding job to make this happen.
Try to local trade school and see if their welding department can do this for you.

So other than the flange needed for connection to the end of the "Y" pipe, why weld it? Most of the new exhaust systems use swaged pipes and clamps. I just helped a friend put a new MagnaFlow exhaust system on a 2016 Mustang GT and the entire system came with clamps from manufacturer. Any muffler shop can swage the pipe for not much money you will just need to plan for the locations and additional length to accommodate the swage fitting.

The rearward 45 is to long on the muffler side. I am nervous about cutting to much until I have the car on the lift. I have the 82 Euro that might be more similar to the 79 if I need to pull the exhaust but really until I measure exactly where the headers end I am just guessing. Maybe Sat Richard will have it on the lift

Don't clamp it. Do it properly and have it welded. I never seen a factory exhaust that crush clamps their pipes. Aftermarket does it to make more money on the parts but it makes the exhaust system un-serviceable.

The tube from the old cat is 2 1/2" and the new set up is all based on 3"
This may seem pretty basic to some of you guys but I feel like I just discovered sliced bread by being able to expand the tube to match the 3" setup.
Here is the stainless tip. It will be much more difficult to stretch out.

The exhaust is all boxed up and ready to be taken down on Saturday!!!
I think I have a welder lined up that may get to it next week. We have another event coming up Nov 5th......... It would be outstanding if I could drive it that day.

The Y-pipe 928 Motorsports is extremely well done.
Flared flange from stock cat.
The muffler was to large to fit in the cavity that holds the mid muffler so we had to move it to the rear. The 3" pipe that had been ordered from Jeggs was great but we needed an extra 45 angle. We found a local man that was able to bend the 48" that we had.
I am grateful to Richard @ Garage 928 for helping me bring this long term project to a conclusion.

Well apparently that huge muffler has zero baffles. When cranked up it was as loud as headers only.
I guess it is back to the drawing board.....

Does anyone have any experience with this one??

Needing a 3" in and out limits me somewhat. We have about decided to leave the rear muffler on and find a small round one that can fit in one of the straight sections. This seems short enough (12") and has good reviews. Any longer and they get really quiet.
