I got a look inside the crankcase yesterday. No damage although the thrust bearing is almost completely gone.
Seems the entire vacuum system is screwed up and will need re-done. The PO apparently removed most of it and just blocked off lines.
The heater core is bypassed (I knew this) I assume it leaks. The car came with a replacement I will put in later when I pull the dash to repair the leather cover that's shrinking and coming unglued.
Vinnie opines that rehabbing the vac system will get the A/C working better.

I'm trying to find more information on these. Are they the same front and back?
Recommended tires? I like the Bridgestone Potenzas on my Boxster.

If "almost new" means virtually no marine hours, and enclosed freshwater cooling when run, you should be good. Great looking car, btw.

Baby's home.
$9000 total, but he fixed a LOT of stuff I was going to put off. All together not too bad. I'll be working on her all weekend and will update as I go.

Tip for new guys
Start a build thread like this.
Religiously post links in it to write ups on things you need to do for your car, like this...
Fuse Panel Rehab
I knew this existed, but it took :30 minutes to find it now that I'm ready to do it.

Got her out on the highway for the first time today. Brand new heater valve failed. Took it off and connected the hose straight to the block to limp home.
Car and I cooled off and I took the driver side door panel off, fixed the arm rest bracket, took all the switches apart and cleaned them. Memory switch was not even together completely. Mirror switch was all corroded. Fixed it all up and assembled. Still no power mirrors. I'm sure it's the fuse panel, but I decided to wait until I can buy some good contact cleaner tomorrow to pull it out.

All done. Voltmeter used to sit just below 12 at idle now reads 13.
I need to replace the sunroof seals. Instructions here.

Front was easy. Just lubed it up with dish soap, grabbed the end with some hemostats and with the roof open a crack wormed it into place.
I'll still take the roof out when I get the rear piece and see if I need to do anything more to the front.

Need to rehab the 14 pin connector.
Good info here https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...nder-hood.html

Done, but the bottom is cracked so I'll be back in there.

Seat and mirror troubleshooting
https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...e-mirrors.html

Had another go at the passenger seat which was stuck pretty far forward and would only move about an inch either direction. There's a bolt loose in the outboard track that it jams on. I managed to knock it loose and get the seat back another two inches. I still don't think I can get the seat out though. I guess I'll have to chisel the front bolts, but I can't even see the back ones, even when it's as far forward as it will go.
Any suggestions?
