Default 14 pin connector under hood..

Was pokin around, and found that the 14pin connector..yes, has no cover.

And..its aged...

There was one female pin that fell out from the bottom.

Solid blue wire, the farthest towards the firewall, and on the engine side...

Trying to locate what this pin is for, just in case.

This junction..added to the rehab list.

You are targeting known offenders. Good work!

Make sure to inspect the solder joints as well...

I notice you have started individual threads of similarly related items, ie clean corrosion, clean grounds, clean connectors, post-purchase standards....
created a master thread for my car call Jadz928's Perl Blog, and have been using that thread to keep track of maintenance, ask questions, and keep people updated.

I like your threads and enthusiam very much! Just hard to keep track of ya...

Didnt mean to start multiple threads..just worked out that way when I shouldda been to bed.

But the pin that was out..either before I touched it, or just -as- I did, was #1 on the bottom.

Wire colors pass through the connector. eg: blue on top connects with blue on the bottom.

If yours matches the 85 diagram I have it runs from the Alternator through the CE panel and to the instrument cluster. At first glance it looks to be the powersupply to the instrument cluster warning lights. Should be pretty obvious when you initially turn the key to the run position. if you don't get any warning lights you know what it does.
