Nice looking car
As to the leak "coming from a small pipe just infront of the drivers side (rhd car) rear wheel." What color is the fluid--is it red? No smell of gas, right??

Yeah. Generally replace the WP at the time of timing belt replacement. Be sure to use either a genuine Porsche pump (expen$ive around $1000 US) ,a Laso plastic impeller pump (best economy quality pump, or The engine guardian pump (re-engineered pump that is designed not to fail the timing belt in the case of a WP seizure)
There have been major improvements to the TB system due to the Rennlisters..
Gates Racing kevlar timing belt... (much stronger and no stretch from the original)
Porkensnr (replaces the stock tensioner with a modern Audi tensioner... Does away with constant tension checking and the need for retensioning after any belt stretch)
Be sure and check the coating on your timing gears that the annodize is still intact. (If the annodize wears away, the gear dies very fast) Overtensioning of the aformentioned belt tensioner is the leading cause of worn gears...
Also check that your oil pump gear is a later steel unit. (The steel unit replaced an inferior aluminum unit) If you upgrade, you will need to check the use of the shim washer is correct..
Engine compartment looks well sorted.... I'm jealous.

Back from dinner.
Just been crawling around (on gravel, being bitten by mosquitos) investigating the source of the new leak.
Hopefully, picture attached. I believe the bolt/washers joining there new bit of house to the old bit of pipe is to blame.
Oil doesn't go further than 1-2 inches up or down from the join.
Is there meant to be something securing this bit of pipe btw?
It seems very wobbley, and the one next to it has a rubber clip/clamp thing securing it in place.
There is a specific torque these things need to be tightened to, hasn't there?
And should there be a support somewhere there?

Thanks ;-)
Just found confirmation that car had full service and check over by a Porsche specialist just before we bought it, just need to confirm the checks involved checking the flex plate.. Have sent the previous owner a message, too late here to call.

This is important and the situation isn't recognized by the manufacturer, for whatever reason. https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...pictorial.html
Wonderful looking car, BTW, congrats!

Hi and welcome - awesome colour (notice I spelt it correctly 8>) car.
You need to get on the UK 928 forum where there is lots of help and advice about UK savvy 928 shops.
Very IMPORTANT, as Brutus says, to get the end play of the crank checked after/during release of the flex plate.
I only know two 928 shops in the UK that would even know what TBF is on a 928. Be very wary of so called 928 specialists and this includes the Porsche dealers themselves.

I like that 'colour' is being spelt correctly :-)
The paint job isn't the greatest in the world, bit you need to have a close look to see the bad bits. I think it's about 5 years old now.
I never considered the idea that the lights might have been replaced after the respray...
Will know for sure tomorrow if the flex plate had been checked, and if not, it will be done next Monday.
I didn't know there was a uk 928 forum, handy!
