See the shiny bit of hose in the last picture?? That's the new race quality stuff which is replacing all the rest soon.

I'll always chose shiny over non-shiny.

My guitarist is Canadian, he does your people no favours.

It was worth the abuse to get the picture. I'm done here.

All approve of shiny hose??

I'm looking at the picture of the underneath of the car, I see two belts, i'm assuming front is alternator and the one just behind is cam belt- is that right?

Oh, just remembered, this car has a dry sump.
Again, added during the blank years we have no history for when it got new engine and new colour.

The large flat belt with ribs is the alt belt. You cannot see the timing belt as it is behind several covers, and the lower bit is behind that big red hub which is the harmonic balancer. Other belts drive the power steering, AC, smog pump.

When you have time, look around in the engine bay for the aftermarket oil tank for the dry sump. There should be two lines connected to it. One going in the top, or near the top for return, and one coming out the very bottom for delivery to the engine oiling pump. It will often have a fill cap as well so that you can charge the oil system at the tank, and not into the oil pan. You still have a stock oil pan on the car that collects the oil after it's been through the engine.

it's very frustrating, there are a lot of things i want to check out on the car and do- but we currently have flood warnings. English weather really is THAT bad.

Oh dear!

Brilliant website which tells you how many of make/model car is left on the road in the UK.
At the end of 2011, there were 1000 928's on the road( this includes all model types) and 1020 registered, but not in use.
Of the ones on the road, 365 were 928 S4's.

I had a hunch there were going to be tattoos in this thread.

;-)

This must lead to D/E.

Perhaps she can score a ride with Rennlist's resident 928 rally enthusiast in N. Ireland-> "Cortina"?
