Thats good news.

You can get a US owners manual in PDF form here which is pretty much identical:

Looking at this yesterday after waterproofing Sophie's 944- it appears this cover has been glued down as the screws holding it in place were threaded :-/

Currently experiencing yet more severe weather warnings, so no point looking further into this right now :-(

Someone asked us if we'd like to sell the Shark today- he really wanted it!

Nope, currently chucking it down as I type! Car is all good though.
Can't do a thing with this weather, it goes from overcast to monsoon to the ground steaming in sunshine in the space of 15 minutes.
I know we british like to moan about our Reuther,

I know we british like to moan about our weather, but this really is ridiculous.
The things we want to do (as soon we can be sure its not going to rain for a reasonable amount of time, are unblock the sunroof drains, clean the grounds and fuses.
Very keen to see what little bugs cleaning the grounds will iron out.

Stuff happens, hope the weather clears up a bit. Our north central region is having a spot of trouble with flooding too. Duluth MN, which is almost Canada is partially underwater.

Be careful when fiddling with the sunroof. Once you roll it back, if it comes off the track, you'll be strecking with it for hours. Go slow, stop if you meet resistance, and investigate whats going on. Very few people with them take the risk of using it because if it fails, it always fails partially open, and then if it rains your strecked.

Compressed air is a useful tool to get crud out of the rails, and some kind of lubricant (we use a product called WD-40 in the colonies) will help sticky bits slide and roll better as you work it out.

In the mean while, go fishing. Catch me a trout, or alligator Gar(google it). Cheerio!

We have wd-40.

Real musicians have a saying.
If it moves and it shouldn't, gaffa tape it.
If it should move and it doesn't, wd-40 it ;-)

I was going to be soooooo careful with the roof, firstly, as suspected, the cover to the manual release HAS been glued down, so need to make sure nothing gets damaged peeling it back, and I live in fear of a roof being jammed open with our weather, just going to open enough to clear the front drains as this is where water is getting in.

Thick fishing line or weed eater (strimmer) line for the sunroof drains.

And compressed air has been known to detach the (plastic?rubber?) drain line from its steel nipple at the sunroof. Very sub-optimal.

Hmm, no fishing line or strimmer to hand.. but i do have bass guitar strings...

Worth knowing about the compressed air, what about lower-strength air pressure, like from a bicycle pump or foot pump rather than a can?

Looks like this is what has been done- and then glue..

Over time and with abuse the wire clip can bend causing the cover to come loose or even fall off while driving the car. The rear of the headliner can also warp with moisture and changes in temperature again with the same result. A quick and fairly neat approach to a sagging headliner is to use some upholstery screws to attach the liner to the roof.
