Thanks Mark - glad you picked that up.

More reason to save good used transmission mounts.

We'll have to change that maxim to "you'll have to spend $20,000 to get a $6,000 car..whups $5000..whups.."

Wow. I think I paid $70 or something for my last clutch shaft. I seemed like too good of a deal to last.

It was 2008 when they were $70. That's when I got mine.

Trans mount -
Any thoughts of adding a piece of rubber to fill the hole in the mount? Could have a plate on either side with a bolt thru the middle to keep the filler from coming out.

Thoughts?

I was thinking the same, just enough to keep it from sagging.
However I just replaced mine a month ago so I should be dead when it comes time to do it again.

The difference between new and a 20 year old tranny mount is about 5mm of crush. I like the idea of the transmission mount version of a Jager speed mount...

That's when I bought mine also, problem is I never installed them, and since they were sitting around I sold them.

Wow, glad I did my transmission mounts last month.

Maybe if you fill the gap on a new one they would never fail?

Watch out what you ask for. Limited production runs of third party parts often equates to poorly manufactured, sometimes dangerous parts. I'm not saying transmission mounts are worth $250, they aren't, but I would rather pay $250 and know the thing is sturdy than find out the hard way with a Beck Arnley special.

For Italian cars you can buy aftermarket parts "MADE IN ITALY" - except they aren't, the Chinese company who makes really poor quality parts is called "MADE IN ITALY" and stamps that on the parts. A sticker says "Made in China." Funny until you realize about half the driveshaft donuts running around the country are inferior parts.

Prices will continue to move up. What we do about it will determine the future of the cars.

Boy, now I wish I kept my old tranny mounts. Rog, how does this affect those already-pricey 32V cam gears?
