Tony,

I recalled you have been trying to decide on a chin spoiler.

I saw a new Nissan 370 Z on the road today with a nice clean painted aftermarket chin spoiler.

It looked similar to this one and these sports cars are close in size
/shape to the 928.

Something for these cars might fit.

Thank you Carl, Had a blast with ya. Matt, that does look pretty slick. Was leaning more toward a smaller version of an old school Dodge Daytona front spoiler. Carl (FLYVMO) just spent a few days here and we discussed airflow regarding both front & rear spoilers and a cool air intake. He flies 747's for a living and has a good handle on the way airflow works. Installed a pass side rear wheel well cover today and trimmed the door speakers in leather. Ooh-la-la. T

Mj, Don't think there is one for the early cars but don't quote me. I flipped a drivers side panel and trimmed a little bit. Glued a piece of trim that was laying around the shop. WIT, ran an overflow hose from the base of the gas filler neck. T

Tony, you've got skills and $. Nice combination!

Smart of Carl to visit, i guess he test drove your LS example to see what he will
have in his project..

The chin spoiler type you are looking for was on a whole host of american muscle cars and that simple type is still made as i see them on new restore classics (not just Mopar) in magazines all the time.

But since you turned out to have such skilled hands, you may as well make one..

Carl did drive JP (post 674 above). I do not have the specialty tools or fabrication skills to build what's in my little head, but a metal fabricator who rents space from me does. Still on the fence whether to add f & r spoilers but a cool air intake is in the works. T

Looking good Tony,

Nice touch adding the rear splash shield, that area gets really dirty without one. I think I still have a spare for the OB if you need one for the driver's side. I think a small discrete but functional "lip" in the front like the one Matt posted (but down sized) would look good, and it will help with airflow.

Cheers!
Carl

Carl, Thank you for the offer but already have that drivers side splash shield in place. Would like to keep the front spoiler between outside frame of the front air duct openings. The rear spoiler would like to keep between the hatch lines similar to the prototype spoiler above and on Matt's car. Do not want the spoilers to wrap around as on the 80-86 "S"'s. Been playing a little with a nicely fabricated aluminum spoiler picked up on the Pro-Touring forum last year. Where's that sawzall T

If you want to get really fancy and accurate, you can use a service like this company to actually have them analyze the downforce and give you the optimum angle, height and width of the rear wing: http://www.sm-designs.ndo.co.uk/advice.html

If for pure esthetics, the aluminum spoiler will look good, trimmed along the hatch lines I think.

Cheers!

Tony, what did you fix the wheel well cover on to - on the fender side? Mines missing the old fastenings, they corroded away..

drnick, Reversed a drivers side splash guard, the Honda bonded a flexible piece of molding to the vertical inner edge to fill the gap. Zip tied to approx 5 mounting points that were in there for the rest. Appears that the lower outer edge will be hold but might just run a bead of silicone behind if it is necessary. Sorry did not take any more pics. Started to measure up what's needed for the cooler air intake. T

Just arrived from 928 Intl. "S" air ducts and deflectors to help keep those front brakes cool. T

Re rear spoiler,

I was looking at my MIL's Audi TT and those stock early rear spoilers
do look about right for our 928s. (I know Dinsdale used one)
The Audi aesthetic is similar to Porsche.

Would look great on Peachy painted to match imo. As they are a quality
piece that is ready for paint.

And because of it being an appendage part,
I think it will match fine regardless of hand or gun painting it
due to it being at a completely different angle to the hatch
when catching light.

Maybe you could use 928 bumper cover piping to create a gasket between the molded TT spoiler and hatch.

That could look 928 correct.

That Audi rear spoiler does look great on Jeff's car. Next up is the LED cluster upgrade & reinstalling the pod. Then it's onto a cooler air intake and plugging her back in for the (hopefully) final tune. T

Nothing to exciting. Wiring up the rear headliner light and WIT will be deleting the rear sun visors. Cleaned the piece up and will fill voids with foam and wrap in leather. T
