Moved the JVC head unit from the pass side shelf (now deleted) into the center console. Plan is to reroute the iPod into the raised center armrest for easy access. T

Hey T, did you figure out a place to put a front center speaker?

I have that JVC head in my Range Rover and with a front center speaker it does 5.1 surround. The Rover had an old unused center speaker spot on the dash and LOTs of room for a 4 channel amp, 2 channel amp and a sub woofer in the back.

I have a Land Rover logo on the screen, want me to make you a Porsche or 928 LS logo for yours?

Sure. Had this logo saved but would like to see what you have. T

This is the rover logo I did, took a while to figure out the correct size so it would display properly, And had to dim it down a little so the white buttons would show up. It actually looks pretty bright on the radio screen.

Will throw a couple or three screens together for you and post them...

A/C compressor has not been kicking on. Freon levels checked are fine, so jumped the HVAC compressor relay (in the ce panel on these older cars and not in the control head), freeze switch and low pressure switch. Nothing. Pulled the HVAC head and found the culprit. There is no A/C button to push on these older heads and they are activated by moving the bottom slider to "AC". The A/C slider has an internal bump that pushes a small button on the front of this switch, which in turn activates the compressor. There was a small stress crack running underneath the red switch and to the edge of the housing. This weakness in the housing was preventing the button on the front of the switch to depress fully. JB welded the base around the switch and reinforced with a small piece of ABS plastic. Will reinstall the head unit on Sat. T

Nice work T man!

Guess you didn't need a professional to take care of this after all.

I'm impressed.

I've always thought becoming a decent auto mechanic begins with taking the time to really just LOOK.

T,
Good time to put your LED's in the head unit while you have it out.

Thanks guys. Just found the Jager LED gauge illumination kit, HVAC upgrade, circular clock upgrade and dimmer control. Hope to get the center console back together this weekend. T
