Hey everyone! I picked up my 1984 928S on Tuesday and have already bought all new taillights, sidemarkers, turn signals, parking lights and hood/hatch struts, lol. They are on the way as we speak.

Anyway, here are some pictures. Im from the Jersey Shore, btw.

Thanks everyone! Yea, the PO went nuts with the blacked-out look. Not bad, but not my style.

It's an auto with 104k miles. Rough around the edges, but that will change quickly. I'm not sure what you mean by "TB", so I don't have an answer to that one lol. I'll take alot more pictures, especially with areas that I will be fixing. I'm very eager to get any and all advice!

Welcome to the shark tank, you will need a new front spoiler too. I wouldn't worry much about the T-belt, 84 US models are non interference. However, there is proper way of doing it and most just put a new belt on without replacing other critical parts of the system. Did he provide a recipe on what parts were replaced during the belt job.

Thanks, namasgt! Yea, the front spoiler may have to wait a bit since its $450 lol. As far as the specifics of the TB job, he mentioned only that it was new.. Regardless, I will be very thoroughly going over the car. I plan to disassemble as much as I can, clean, check, replace if needed, and reassemble. I will need much guidance in what looks good or not, so expect many pictures in the coming weeks.

You need to get a hold of the digital copy of the work shop manuals. Our vendors do sell them in CDs.
In case your not familiar with some of our vendors, they are:

928sRUS (Roger)
928 International (their used parts Literally look like new)
928 specialist
There are other 928 vendors too, you should be able to find them in the sponsors section on top right of this page.
I personally buy new parts from Roger and know for sure he has the CDs.
You will find a lot of information about 928s here, there are timing belt job procedures step by step with pictures if you search. You are at the right place.

Yeah, definitely get the Jim Morehouse CD set fosho. And the "search" button in the 928 forum is your best friend. As for the "interference engine" question, tbh, I'm still not sure. I never found a definitive answer anywhere. But I found this recently: http://www.rebuiltautoengines.com/po...-articles.html
Either way, even if it ain't an IE, I'm treating my baby like one.
And oh yeah, mo'pics please! The blackness has kinda Mad Max feel to it...

Johnny,
Best wishes with the car. Get PorKen liftbars. You're a little over 100k so check/release flexplate tension along with the usual things.
