The 928 was my first vintage car four years ago, and of necessity my first experience with serious mechanical work. I lost my fear of old cars, and I've gone on buying spree since: '59 Bugeye Sprite, '95 Saab, '82 911, and a '78 Unimog. OK, I'm still frightened over that last one.

Think I would like to build something stupid! After all I would be senile by that time.

All true and spot on. Pretty much all the reasons I pulled the trigger on it.
You gotta pay attention... the 305/30/19s up front Tramline like **** on crap roads.
It’s like driving a NASCAR on the street.

Loud, obnoxious, wide as a steamroller.. I love it!

Probably won’t supercharge it, but cam, heads, etc are planned..
Similar to this.

I miss your old GTS Jim. I still remember driving it for the first time, inspired me to buy the Charlie Car!
Your new 911 is a whole new level!
See you at 3rd Coast!

How about just next car, cause I do not see me being without a 928 until it gets pried out of my dead, cold hands.

Looking at 2016 911 Turbo S's. and thinking about adding one to the stable:

No plans for anything anymore, I have three old vehicles inc 928, when the time come's I'll cash in and just use an old beater or the bus. Nothing car wise thrills or interests me any longer.

Agree!
Some of my cars will come and go, but I don't foresee me being without the 79 SilverBulit. Even after I bought and sold the GTS, I knew the 79 would stay.
Congrats again on the GTS, looks like you and Jim had a fantastic Road Trip!!

Yes, the tracking of the front end, especially on city roads, is terrible. You gotta pay attention for sure.

...whatever you do, steer clear of that guy in the video. He's built quite the internet legend.

Thx for the heads up!!
Yeah, he's built quite a "reputation"....

There's a place near me in Dallas Called 21st Century Muscle Car. They do the same type of work and have a great reputation!

I'll be waiting for one of these to depreciate into my lap in about 10-15 years. A modern 928 in Mercedes clothes.
