I recently was taken out for a ride in a 328 GTS and this did not impress me at all. Didn't like the sound and the view from the passengerseat. Off ourse this doesn't say anything about driving it but to me, it was an experience gained but a dream lost

If I had the money, I'd go for the R version. It's a monster.

It is a very nice looking design, but beastly and a monster, not in today's world. The r version does a 4.2 0-60, you could beat that with a supercharger on your 928 and still have the better looking and performing car. The Golf 400 that I posted has a 3.7 0-60.

yeah its fast, but looks like a standard econo hatch back, with VW electrical B.S.

no thank you.

you could make a 3.7 sec car out of a lot of stuff, but its not all about that.

Why do you want lots of torque? They sound nice when revved.

Not only fast, but stealthy, and with an amazing gearbox that can deliver from 0 to 100% of power to front wheels or back wheels. I have always liked the rabbit/golf, had 2 in the family when I was a teenager. Solid little cars. This R400 is the best looking little hatch imo. For me, nothing replaces the 928, but this is a car that would be a nice addition for when you just want to go somewhere low key, with no worries.

I have never really heard to much bad about VW electrics, jaguar plenty though.

Why does everyone want a lot of tourque? Fcars are so over rated. I have been around them a lot. The oldies are not very well made and don't perform all too well until the 355 which I used to like until I was staring at one a little while ago and noticed how the bottom half looks like they tacked on plastic as an after thought. I don't even like the testarossa anymore.

On a positive note, the scud is mean looking, the stradale still sounds good with aftermarket exhaust and the 458 is nicely shaped. Their interiors are finally top notch. You know the more you are accustomed to seeing them the more they lose their hold on you. The opposite is true of the 928. (I suppose I should add that what I ride is faster than any of them so none of the performance numbers means anything.)

Having owned Porsches most of my life, for my "mid-life crisis", I decided to get an SUV.

2004 Cayenne TT.

The Testarossa, 308, 328, and Mondial are all gorgeous cars to me. I love the 80's Ferraris, and it's real a shame they aren't more reliable. 40,000 miles is considered "high miles"?.....What??? I don't get it. From what I remember reading, they need engine rebuilds by then....there goes 20k. The only Porsche that stirs my soul like those F cars is the 928....so drop dead sexy.

i have all that now, in a much better-looking package.

i just don't like boxy hatchbacks, but that's a personal thing.

I agree.

When it goes beyond certain performance level, the numbers and track times are not that important. It's all about the "feel" and spirit... and Jag F-Type certainly has a lot of genuine, raw sports car spirit. I think it's safe to say that it'll become a classic in the future. The looks... just phenomenal.

Can't explain it, but its shape has some of same elements that attract me on a 928, especially GTS with that "fat" rear. Timeless design that will still look great in 2050.

don't see too many hatchback coupes these days. i always liked that style - 2 doors, long hood, sloping rear hatch.

928/944/Supra/RX-7 .... all look great!

Guys, the curb weight of the F1 cars from the 80's turbo days (my favorite period) was 1100 lbs (500kg) and they had as much as 1300bhp in qualifying.

If that is a Lancer EVO you will have 104 bhp less (stock form). It's the clean uncluttered shape of the R400 that could be called "boxy" that I like about it. It also adds to the large open cabin they have always had. A very practical simple car, now with amazing performance. That's the stealth part of it of it too.
