Mark,
I'm sure you'll like the increase in torque. I added the smaller supercharger pulley and an ECU tune to Bigs/my SL55, brings it up to about 575. (I KNOW there is at least one person in CA that doesn't believe torque is important, but I disagree - I use torque 99% more frequently than I make use of the ~535 HP the car now provides). Enjoy your 'new' ride.
By the way, responding to the title of this thread - my'next car' after the GTS departed is in the garage. It has much lower performance than the 928 provided. But this model in racing form won the European Touring Car Championship for 5 out of 6 years from 1973-1979, and this one is no slouch on the roads. It's engine has been upgraded in size, torque and HP from original 3 liter by about 25%, has fuel injection instead of carburetors, and a 5 speed overdrive trans replacing the OE 4 speed.

Saw a guy try to park a hellcat at a restaurant on day. Took him about 10 minutes because he would not touch the throttle and just let it creep along at idle.. Later asked him about it and he said he couldn't touch the throttle or it would spin the rears and he would end up hitting something in the parking lot.
Clearly, he's an idiot.
Seems like a reasonable time to snick the traction control back on.

Lawyer joke, Albeit weak.
Easter eggs,
It's all here....old 'n new.
Volcano reference and a screaming Maggie..I prefer the challenger, wouldn't own a charger but I guess they had to go sedan/sedan

So where's the Tesla egg...or the app..for the select-trac...no, not the Jeep one, but the uber mixed sonorous sounds of V8 v12 or whatever, that ought to be loaded onto the audio equip and driver selectable.
Wait, I probly coulda made some money on that, I call Copyright!

928 is already the next car after so many.
I'll buy more cars I'm sure but the 928 along with 2 other cars in the garage and a 3rd car(some sort of 911) on the way are the 4 cars I'm leaving to my 4 kids.

I'd really like to continue ownership of an early 928; however, it would be a step-up over my '82 to get one with 32 valves. It will depend on what results in what ever should bring about an end to my 'love affair' with what I have. If I do end up getting tired of the electrical issues I could see a Crossfire coupe in the future. Heck, most of them are cheaper that a 928 anyways.

a stupid answer on my part, but I'd love to own my current 928, but as a new car.
Wish I could have seen/drove it brand new....

Next new car is a 2016 Honda Pilot Touring Elite next week. The possibly a DB9 or F355. Doesn't mean I'll get rid of the 928 though. If you are speaking vehicles in general then it's an RV10.

Mark,
I might have taken your advice from the conversation we had at Carmel concours on the avenue...

The E55 has changed my mind about what I may want/wish for after/during the 928 years (which started in 2000, and have not yet stopped).
I will be driving some C5, C6, and C7 corvettes soon. I am very interested in All-wheel drive as well, but in a larger engined car.
Mid-engined cars have always interested me.
I have to finish The Red and White car, as well as get the GT to refurbed/stock and then put my head up and look around.
I have a bent towards customized stuff. Built engines, suspension changes, etc - so "new" doesn't normally work for me. We'll see.

I bought a 2013 Infiniti G37xS ... its very 928-like.
330hp, sport suspension, big brakes, 12-way adjustable sport seats (with 2 rear seats that won't really fit a normal-sized adult), and an INSTRUMENT POD THAT MOVES WITH THE STEERING WHEEL!
Although its missing 2 cylinders and not quite the looker a 928 is, its does have modern Japanese electronics that work and AWD, so it won't sit in the garage for 3-4 months every year.

Got quite the deal on a slightly used 2014 991 50th Anniversary last fall. Also turned 60 and justified purchase as a fun investment. Was hoping/waiting for Porsche to make a modern day 928 but that turned out to be a fantasy. Digital vs Analog is the best description I've heard so far of the 928 & 991. Both superb rides in there own ways and yes, keeping Just Peachy. T
