New Tesla Models are all vegan. No real leather inside. The company is about sustainability, and some of their investors and customers have criticized them for using natural hides. (Mine is one of the last cars with real leather seats).
I like the Tesla interiors because they are about as minimalist as a 928 interior was at its time. I find most other interiors way too busy - some feel like an assault on my eyes. Less is more to me, as long as it is functional.
As to the Bentley - congrats, Randy! This car shares the platform with the VW Phaeton, so not all repairs should be crazy expensive.
A friend of mine had a Phaeton for many years and says it has been very reliable. But she had some challenges finding local mechanics who know how to diagnose and fix the car. Should be easier in California than where she is, though.
Enjoy the new beast!

Nope. Can't get excited by it for many reasons.
On the subject of Bentley's and other Big Sedan stuff... we're going smaller. CarChick has stated 'Momma needs a Spyder.' I haven't decided what build I like. CarChick gets final say on color/interior. I suspect that this will be our last ICE vehicle. And I want one more 'modern' manual transmission car before the MT Dodos. I don't expect to like the 992 with all of its functions buried in multi-level touchscreen menus.

There is, of course, a serious disturbance in the automotive metaphysical force. In more physical terms, the river of time has quickened and entered a set of rapids with waves too high to see beyond. Exciting? Risky? Time to beach your kayak and walk the rapids?
I was watching a Youtube video describing a Mercedes SUV that had a throwback inline six, but supplemented by a 48V "pancake" motor AND an electric supercharger to help get it off the line while it built revs and turbocharger boost. I imagine the engine also had variable cam timing/lift, a dual injection system (intake and direct), as well as a default "eco" mode and other trickery to meet emissions and mileage requirements. Electrically driven accessories. I think it had a 37-speed transmission or something. An elaborate exhaust system, including particulate filters for Europe. And a tank for holding a large quantity of a highly flammable liquid....
This kayak could be christened Rube Goldberg, and is clearly headed over the falls. Head for shore!
But I think the subject of this thread is the bus on the riverbank that will take you back upstream - 20-30 years - so you can run a calmer, simpler section of river again, in style. But wait - there's another bus that will take you back even further...

So, coming back to topic, in the mean time, I think from an aesthetics point of view the Jags have passed those Astons. The one posted here by Tony is looking pretty good to me! Elegant but clean without too many swoopy spoilers and bulges. Not really following the technical details of all these cars right now, as I have had my hands full with 928 "complete refreshes" these last couple years. So, I let others comment there.
