I regularly buy Super glue from OS and it ships in to Oz ok. Last time I tried to buy some debonder (for superglue), my order was rejected because of shipping restrictions...as the man said, Go Figure!

We used to say that progress was movement in any direction. That may apply here.
I had originally planned to get to just about this same status with this WW Liner Project and then send out 4 or 5 sets in the "final form" for what I was calling "field testing;" and I had made tentative arrangement for particular interested GTS owners to do the "testing."
What I had in mind for testing was to simply see how well the installations would go by someone besides me, either the owner or his designated installer. I didn't really anticipate any kind of testing for these WW Liners in use, either from the servicability standpoint or relating to noise control. Whatever either of these aspects amount to will simply be a risk that we will all be taking with these.
However, the best layed plans of mice and men . . . and so forth. . . actually did go astray; and now I think that is fortunate.
At about the time I was finalizing the processes and was making a first "production run" of five sets, I found myself buying a 1980 Euro S 5-speed project car near Phoenix. Rich A. helped me close the deal and then took the car over to his place for me to pick up.
Rich was one of the scheduled field testers, so it came to pass that I finished up the first batch and hauled four sets to Arizona, now with the idea in mind to simply do Rich's installation myself. I also arranged to do two additional installations there myself to make the whole trip more beneficial overall.
The real benefit that came out of it, aside from the trip, the nice dinner Rich arranged with the 928 Arizona Gang, and the neat 928 I retrieved, was that I found that although the Liners were finalized to fit my GTS4, they needed some minor changes to fit the others; and I found that the changes, although not particularly significant, were not the same with the sets I installed. My conclusion was that the carts are not exactly the same, but I can't really pinpoint the differences.
After I got home I worked on the forms in order to try to accomodate all the differences I think I found with the hope that I can now provide these WW Liners so that "one size fits all." The problem is that I need to try another small batch of installations myself to see if my changes actually work and to perhaps see further what the extent is of the differences in these GTS cars.
So, I have in effect canceled what I thought about "field testing" in favor of "please mom, I would rather do it myself."
That brings me to the real purpose of this post. That is to suggest that I have another subject for an installation in his GTS in San Diego and would like to take for to six sets of WW LIners there, or near there, to install in his GTS and in that many additional cars. I also would like to find, in that area, and I suppose anywhere in SoCal, someone of our 928 community who has a lift we could use, and not one that is part of someone's business because I don't want to impose or interfere with that. Of course, I also need the additional GTS owners interested in the Liners and who are willing to pay me to install them.
The introductory price of these Liners, when I open this up in my small business membership, is $950per set, including the noise control material installed. I am charging $250 for the installation, using a lift, or $300 if I have to do it on my butt. Both situations require some help from the owner like hold this, hand me that, or take the wheels off, and such.
The tentative plan now is to bring these to SoCal for the installations on perhaps the 17th and 18th of May, or on the 18th and 19th, or maybe even all three days. I can only count on doing two sets per day, but with a lift I might be able to do three. On my butt is likely to be only one set per day because at my age that is a real killer.
Is there anyone around there with a lift we could use?
Are there any takers around there for the GTS version of these WW Liners in this hoped-for installation party?

I don't mind spending money on my GTS, and have already spent plenty, but for that sort of money and adding international shipping, I want absolute factory replicas without additional brackets, joins and fixings, that install like the originals.
The many changes and the price have put them out of my consideration ... but GLWTS.

So 6250 S4's, and 318 GTS's.
Jerry already had multiple S4's.. so he could have just designed for them from the start.

Jerry, I desperately need a set for my GTS as mine are completely gone. While a little more than I wanted to spend, I would be up for having a set installed if you end up in the Orage County / LA area. I doubt I would be able to make it down to San Diego that weekend given my schedule and Mother's Day. I wish I had a lift, but don't. Please keep me in mind if the trip comes to fruition.

Jerry, no offense to the nice people (and lovely environs) of southern California, but I bet we could get a group of GTSs together in Dallas very easily for the first "test" installations ... any chance we could talk you into a visit to Texas for this?

However it is the other curve that is of most concern in this situation, and that is the suppy curve. I don't even remember if there is a similar name to it such as PED. The interesting thing about the supply curve that applies here is not so much the WW Liners , but rather my time. I have only a limited amount of time that I can devote to producing any of this stuff for the 928s, and on a long term basis, much less that just about all of the rest of you. Then, in the short term, I can only make a limited number of these WW Liner sets in a given period of time.
What that means is that when someone buys a set of these WW Liners they are paying me for both some of the time I have already spent developing them and then for the time it is going to take me to make them a set. Where that fits on the curve is of little concern to me except to say that at a lower price, even though more will be demanded, I am much less interested in spending any more of my time to make them.
It may very well be that the supply and demand curves simply don't even cross in respect to these WW Liners. But, I think even the very limited response to this tentative announcement indicates that at the price I have set for these there is some interest. It will remain to be seen just what the real demand is for these at this price; and it may turn out that the demand is even much less than what I might be willing or able to supply. However, that does not cause my time to go to waste because I have a long list of other things that I would like to spend my time on and much of that may also be of some benefit to some of the rest of you in the 928 community.
I think I have set the price for these WW Liners at the correct level and I am not likely to reduce it. I do kind of feel bad for those who simply cannot afford these at this price, or feel that they can't. Perhaps that will stimulate someone else to invest in the development of something else to meet this specific need, something that can somehow be provided at a lower price.
