Default Carrera IIIs

Love the look of the 18" Carrera III rims on the 928.

What width and offset are folks running?

18x8" 57mm and 18x10" 58mm. You can also get 18x11's for the rear.

18x8 57 offset Front 235/40 ZR18
18X10 58 offset Rear 265/40ZR18

These were off 2007 997 both wheels and tires. Some have opted for 225/40 fronts and 265/35 rears which get you closer to 25" diameter.

Thanks. Right now I am running 235/40-18 and 285/30-18's. I tried 245/40-18's in the front but the total diameter was too large and they rubbed on the inside during very sharp turns. I think the max combo for these wheels would be 245/35-18 and 295/30-18.

The 18 x 11's fit very nicely - but depending on the tire, you may need a small spacer (3pm) and need to roll/flare the fender. My experience has been that there is quite a bit of variability in the actual widths of 295/35/18 tires. If you don't want to mess with an of that stuff, get the 18x10's and put a 265 to 285 tire.

Oh, I forgot to mention I am also running 3mm spacers in the rear with the 285/30-18 tires. Looks better and clearance is fine.

Excellent info folks thx

Dan, I assume your '91 GT has flared/rolled rear fenders so the 285s are no issue?

My car has the rear fenders slightly rolled, yes. Although I have heard of 285's fitting fine under stock rear fenders on 10" 58mm offset wheels. However, since the rear fenders are steel, it is very easy to give them a roll if needed.

Also, there is a seller on eBay called eurowheelsusa that I bought my aftermarket set from for I believe under $700. I don't see any Carrera III's listed in his store currently, but he may still carry them?

When it comes to rubber Andrews comment re. variability seems correct.

I currently run 275s on 17" x 10" turbo twists rears and they barely fit...........never would fit a 285 especially with a 3mm spacer.

Is your current offset in the rear also 58mm?
