What tires are you guys running on those?

225 or 235 on the front and what 285 on the rear?

Sounds about right James. I think the tires Mark is putting on my car are about that, but I'm pretty sure the rears are 275.

So this is what is coming...ALMOST... Where these wheels are silver... THINK GUARDS RED BABY! That will be on my EURO85 after the first of the year. YUMMY! (just noticed the inside of this rim is silver too...that part will be black on my wheels...only the very lip area starting on the part of the wheel where the valve stem is and then out to the edge where the wheel and tire come together is red)

I've been feeling that something wasn't right, more vibration and tire noise, so I took the car in for balancing today (I hate the NTB!) and learned that I have a bent rear wheel.

I don't remember hitting anything, but it seems like the issue started after Marble Falls in Nov, so maybe a cattle grate at 100 mph was the cause, who knows... Anyway, I don't see these wheels on wheelsandcaps dot com, or the wheelsandcaps Ebay store where I got mine. An earlier post mentioned that the one of the manfacturers went out of business, but when I bought mine 2 years ago, they were coming from Italy and China, so I would think they would still be coming from one of those places.

I found a company nearby that will fix the bend for $90, so I may just go that route. It's not a major bend, but you can definately see it on the balancer. I've been hearing a lot of tire noise lately, so not sure if fixing the bend will solve all my issues, but good place to start I guess.

Also thinking about putting one of my old wheels/tires on each corner, one at a time, to try to verify the bent wheel is causing the noise issue.

I've got a front and a rear that are bent. Had good success get some bent wheels straightened on my DD and am very happy with the results, so I'll probably do the same for the C III's.

Thought I'd update this thread.

Just concluded a deal with a set of 18x8 and 18x10 with used Conti rubber. They came off of a 997 and have centre caps

Malcolm--

Are those wheel weights 0.25 oz each or 0.5 oz? 2oz+ in one spot is sometimes from someone who was trying to hide something gone wrong. Spin them for true and balance before mounting?

If anyone's shopping..

I found that tirerack.com has the 275/40ZR18 Continental ExtremeContact DW on sale right now for $189/ea, and the 235/40s up front are $161.

Thats a 26lb rear tire, at 10.8" width.

Great point Bob.

The pictures I posted are from an email the seller sent............I've only briefly saw the wheels in person. I'll examin much closer before funds exchange hands.

Thx for the observation
