225/40 on 8s and 265/35 on 10s, Sumi HTRZ IIIs, with 20mm spacers in the back, which is a very tight fit, but no rubbing on the stock GT lip.

I think they look really good in black.

They also look cool when you're moving.

I like my CIII's too.... They look great on all body styles, but the best on the S4>

Turbo's look awesome on the early body style.

They complement both Pearl and Coral quite nicely...

My humble opinion is that the Carrera IIIs really make the 928 look more modern, as if the body style in itself was not already.

You know, I am going to disagree with everyone here (just my opinion)

I think In RKD,s post of the Cup and C3 wheels comparison, that the cup style rims look . . . umm more factory or i don't know, better, to me anyway.

I have those on my car and I have been looking at every rim out there.
It wasn't until I saw the comparison post half way down page 1 that I noticed that both car pictures look the same.

The different wheels don't make that much of a change IMO

It's funny, that picture struck me the total opposite way. I used to think the Cup wheels were good until I saw a direct side-by-side comparison with the Carrera III's.

To be honest, I really just wanted better tire choices without the heaviness of 18 inch Cup wheels. MY 944 Turbo had 18in Cups (aftermarket) and they were very very heavy. However, I do really like the look of the C3s over the Cups.

Dan,
I agree. The pic that Richard posted (above) was what sold me on the
Carrera III's. I really did NOT like the stock wheels on the GTS. When I put the CIII's on the car, I was blown away by the change in the look of the car.
It REALLY brought it up to a 2010 look.

With that being said. My GTS original wheels where bought by a local Rennlister here in DFW. He had the original manhole covers on his 85. When he put the Cup 2's on his car, it COMPLETELY changed the look of his car. (IT updated the hell out of it!!)

It's all relative I guess!

To me the roundy curviness of the Cups compete with the smoothness of the body lines. The realatively simple straight spokes and smooth edges of the CIII's complement the smoothness of the car without being too sharp like Fiskes.

Then again I just like the style of 5 spokes with smooth edges...

I really liked these on my Boxster, but think the 3 piece bolts look out of place on a 928.

That is one of the best looking 928's I have ever seen George.

I would not say that if i thought it was ugly.

Thanks a lot, Greg (belated photo credit for the in motion pic go to Jim Doerr - thanks Jim)... now if I could only bring the local domestic brand guys around to the virtues of the 928.

I was at my second generic car show this weekend, with about 60 cars in attendance. They gave awards to the top 30 cars (people's choice - we were asked to list our top 30), and I got nothin'... bupkis - couldn't even break into the upper 50%... I was embarassed.

Now, I'm a non-discriminatory car guy and can appreciate a nice car regardless of make or model (and there were some there - was parked next to a very nice '68 Buick GS). But, when a '97 Vette (nothing against Vettes) with Lambo doors and a pinkish burgundy metal flake paint job that looks like it came out of a rattle can or a 2010 Shelby Mustang right off the lot (nothing against Mustangs either) both beat me out, I begin to question people's judging criteria.

Please don't get me wrong, I understand "to each his own". I'm also well aware of how kind you guys have been to me at our gatherings, and, trust me, it hasn't "gone to my head". I freely acknowledge that we have a score of 928s in our community that are much nicer than mine and that "Coral Red" has a lot to do with its shine and show success.

So, I'm taking it on as a personal mission to teach folks how great and significant a car the 928 is. I will attend as many car shows as I can (I've recently become our PCA region's rep to the regional car club council), and will engage as many attendees as I can to get the Shark the recognition it deserves. If that means that folks know it simply as "the German muscle car", then so be it.

IMHO I have always loved the lines of the 928 but to me it looks its age with stock wheels and mirrors.

When I first installed the turbo twist rims I couldn't believe the transformation and when the GTS mirrors were fitted...........wow. People, young and old always ask 'what year is your car? it looks great.'

Cant wait for the next change in appearance when the C3s are installed
