94 928 GTS Repaint & Delete
#199
A little earlier on this thread, Chuck Z thought it reminded him of a Tahoe Blue 928. Barry says it look Turquoise. Tom says it reminds him of Dan Hebert's 928. This paint does flip-flop. Car has only been under fluorecent lights (turns greenish-blue), and mercury lights (turns blueish-green) while in for paint. Can't wait to see what happens when rolled out into natural light. Appreciate the positve responses. T

This is what Porsche calls Turkis Metallik (Turquoise Metallic). As you can see it looks more green-ish. Tony, I think your color is closer to the Tahoe Blue. Regardless it is going to be beautiful.

BTW, you can change the settings in User CP to 40 posts per page instead of the default. I only have 6 pages....

My paint is also custom, and it too looks different under different lighting. It is a custom blend Pearl White. In daylight, it is just the brightest, eye-scorching white you have ever seen... but you have to get close to see the pearl flakes. Under sodium or mercury lighting, the pearl shows through easily as well as a faint blue haze along the body lines.
That is of course, if it's clean. Otherwise, it's just a dirty white car.

Looks like it's somewhat in the middle of the Turquoise Metallic and Tahoe Blue-Turqhoe? Barry, like to see more pics of that Pearl White S4. Just switched to 40 posts per page. Thanks for the tip Chuck. T

T,
Looking good one of my other toys has paint that changes color depending on the light. It gets funny when I have to meet someone new. I always say meet me in the dark colored car when its dark out but I say meet me in the green car when it's bright out. Looks like you came up with a fun color that everyone will have their own take on what color it is to them.

Pics, more pics !
DA sanded with 1200 today to get the fine dust out. Another clear coat going on Monday, then sand again with 2000. Then another clear, then it's wet sand with 3000. Buff it out and then reassemble. It's a process. T

The little stuff
Painted the smaller parts on Saturday, and cleared 3X already. The main body now has 6 coats of clear and the paint looks deep. Going back over a few bays to Mark (bodyman) to reassemble. Then it's back to the painter to buff it all out. This paint really looks much more blue under these mercury lights. It really is much greener than they appear in these pics. Getting very anxious to get this process over with. T

WOW! T, that is looking AWESOME MAN!!! I can't wait to see this at 2nd Sat in Feb! Hope you can make it! Then again I guess at the end of March for Spring Fling down in your neck of the woods. Looking at the schedule for me, I will probably make it down to Spring Fling for lunch on Sat and then leave to get back sometime after dinner... have to play some guitar at church on Sunday!
