My ceiling is 9"4", this is looking pretty good. I'd like a 4 post for storage but this is better to work on the car and takes up much less space.

C'mon Glenn... All the "cool" people are getting them.

Seriously though, if you're really wanting to get in on this, let us know ASAP.

Do you have the 5 orders you need? Do they take credit card? Do you think my wife will notice?

No, not yet.

I think so.

I promise she will not.

Btw, the way I sold this to my wife was that it was much much safer than jack stands. She didn't even question it.

I've been debating a lift for a long while. When I built the garage extension, I optioned full-height cathedral ceiling. When the door went in, I worked on it myselft to make sure I could get the door to follow the ceiling for the clearance needed underneath for a full-height lift. Slab is 8"+ of 4000 PSI concrete, with a couple layers of #8 bar on 8" spacing. All ready for a lift. There's a floor layout for a Bend-Pak 10ACX wide-footprint assymetric two-post, printed on big paper and taped to one of the cabinets. For over two years now. I just couldn't get my arms around the idea that I would have the lift columns there all the time.

The 'solution' for me is the Max Jax product. The columns unbolt from the floor and move out of the way when not in use. I'll probably put an extra set of imbeds in the floor so I have both wide and narrow column location options. With the columns narrow, the doors won't open fully but there will be much easier walk-around clearance. Wide gives good interior access with doors wide open. The only downside is the 48" max lift height, and after a few discussions it's been determined that it won't be a serious issue. Earl G mentioned at Frenzy that he'd rather lay down on the creeper under the car vs. standing up; sitting might be the right compromise. Plus I can stop the lift anywhere below a couple feet and stuff a jackstand under each lift carriage for 'just right" work height underneath. All workable, and way beyond what most of us can do with jacks and stands now.

Has anyone asked about liftgate service ? That normally will add $130.00 to the shipping costs.

I happen to live about 45 mins from Dannmar in Moorpark, so I'll just go pick it up. Disassembled, the columns will go on a small utility trailer and the rest will go in the back of the 4Runner just fine. Since you don't have that option, you can go to the local trucking terminal and pick yours up there. They will usually forklift it onto or into your trailer or pickup truck. You take the package apart when you get it home, and take the pieces out one at a time. Watch the videos and see how it is shipped, and you can see how much work it is to unbolt the shipping support pieces.

FWIW, getting local delivery from a liftgate truck vs a bobtail has never been tougher than a phone call to the trucking company that does the last mile. I tip the driver for his extra work, which is usually bringing it out the back with a pallet jack and lowering it on the gate. His bigger job is usually finding my house and navigating the road and my long driveway.

Default Pending group buy

With final decisions pending from

pjg - LGL - Glenn M and firesm this group buy will close in the next 2-3 days

Payments will be made direct to Danmar - CC will be accepted and freight is included to a freight terminal in your area - some have asked if the 6 inch extenders to be included in the group buy - I'll ask when we're ready to place to order and let you know.

Best

I sent out some feeler e-mails to local concrete X-ray companies to find the cost to survey my damned post-tension slab for rebar. If that works out count me in, but this won't likely be in time for this group buy.
