Yes I did. I had it delivered two weeks ago. I didn't really know any local 928 guys so it went to Hennessey Porsche plus I work in the same bldg in Atlanta with Porsche's NA HQ and they hooked me up with a 928 long time Porsche gru their. He actually is the head guy at that dealership. Yeah I paid to much per hour for labor rates but he did a ton of stuff I'm sure didn't go not go n the labor tally. He actually inquired making an offer for the car. I told him he would have the right of any first refusal if I sell it anytime soon. So i I know he crawled through pretty well.
Thanks for the extra info and it was dead on. Fortunately after doing the obligatory WP, TB, etc the medium size stuff is mainly all cosmetic....for now.
I'll post some picks if anybody cares to see the progress.
You posted a a message on a thread about a white 91 in Worcester and listed out a few items that you noticed. Thanks for the observations it help me budget what I need to drop from the outset. Any thing else you remember or left being concerned about?
What about the guy selling it? What was your impression onf him? The guy I talked with was Barry who claimed he knew nothing about Porsches but was just flipping the car.
I appreciate you time and thoughts on my first venture into the wonderful world of 928s.
I hope your 911 is doing well...I followed it quite closely on ebay and saw the posts on rennlist. I was in Jacksonville for work and told my wife "if they don't take the offer on the house, I'm going down to look at this 928 and buy it if it's as nice as it sounds".
Well, they said yes as you can guess. I hope the carbon is all that the valves are, the owner sounded like a nice guy and a real 928 enthusiast.
If you decide to move on or upgrade or whatnot, please drop me a line, I'd be interested in it (well, in a year plus, need to recover from the home purchase)
