4" elbows fit good to the back of firewall using the new angled collar that pulls the pipes away from the firewall.
It was some machine work some hand work to get that collar to fit so it could be welded up.
Y pipe to MAF is the same 3 1/2" tubing, not as wide thou.
The inside is opened up to alittle more than 3.40" since it is now machined lower.
The angled allowed for the fitment of the 4" elbows. Will decide later on the fan idea first needed to get the 4" pipes to fit.
3 1/2" Y pipe looks small compared to the rest of the system.

Went to Tuesday night drags car ran the quickest ET so far with the newer air system.
Best ET run was 9.40 in the 1/8th mile.
Best MPH run was 79.81mph in the 1/8 mile.
These have been the best numbers so far for the car and
it has been with the larger system with 4inch elbows.

Mark, who sells the 3 1/2" Y Pipe? I have a similar set up but with the 4" Y. Problem is I believe the clamps are resting against the back of the hood i.e. no clearance and I don't like that. I don't have a clue where I bought mine from (2 years ago). Please and thank you

There were a few different suppliers on Ebay. Some of the radius vary and the larger ones are harder to get a rubber on if cut to short. Its hard to say which have a tighter radius.Everytime I bought them the pipes varied thats why I also went with the welded collar.Roger may have some Y pipes and also check Ebay they looked like theses at:

How long is the Y pipe that you have now?Are you running the 3 1/2 or 4 inch elbows?Any pictures of under the hood?
Most of the 3 1/2" Y pipes vary from 13 to 13 1/4 inches long.(330mm to 336.5mm)

The next pic shows that I used a cut down 4" to 3 1/2" silicon tube to connect the MAF and the Y. The height is still too long. Where did you get the collar that you welded on the Y? That's what I need.

Any chance now of you taking that set up and having it made in some high strength plastic? It wouldnt conduct the heat nearly as well as the metal does.
Im sure you have done it but be sure to "reset the car" by un hooking the battery with a set up like this. When my car was N/A i saw a significant change when i ran my intake to the fender.

After looking at the picture of the MAF clamped compared to the Y pipe clamped:
The clamp around the Y pipe looks smaller in diameter are you sure that Y pipe is 4" and not 3 1/2" pipe as the MAF Outside diameter is approx. 3.76"(95.5mm)
It could be the way the picture is but the clamp around the Y pipe looks smaller than the one around the MAF.
The collar I had made up but they aren't so easy to fit together without some hand work before welding. If you could come down to the States you could always look at the setup, not sure how far up in Ontario you are?

Measured it last night. You're right Mark, I am running a 3 1/2" Y. The 4" on the reducer is on the MAF end. My problem is that the height between the top of the MAF and the top of the Y is too high. However, if I weld the two and kill the silicon connector I'll be ok. I now have someone to weld it for me but what did you do to keep it bolted on?

That 2nd close up picture was a good one to see the size difference. When I designed the collar the bottom side was to accept the stock rubber seal which allowed the Y pipe to be cut lower.Even after making the collar it still needs hand work to get the collar to fit before welding. Then the assembly pushed onto the MAF similar to the stock airbox and didn't need to be bolted down.
